Commander’s Shadow Strike is Taedal’s Tower Floor 10, where you face the Oblivion Skeleton Commander. The key is to jump as the boss lands to clear its shockwave, sidestep its forward dark-energy pull, and move away quickly if its below-half-health sequence pulls you in.
How to beat Commander’s Shadow Strike
Keep the commander in view and respond to the attack cue rather than staying in front and trading hits. The encounter guides agree on the main movement checks, though exact move details may vary by game version.
| Attack or cue | What to do |
|---|---|
| The boss jumps and lands, sending a shockwave across the arena | Jump so you are airborne when it lands. Be ready to jump again: guides warn the shockwave may repeat, including twice in succession. |
| Dark energy travels forward and then pulls back | Sidestep out of its path or stay positioned to the side. Players caught in the energy can be dragged by the pull. |
| Below half health, the boss jumps and pulls you toward it | After the pull draws you in, move away promptly to avoid the dangerous follow-up explosive or area attack. |
| The boss rushes and a purple block indicator appears | Block in response to the indicator if the mechanic matches what you see. StudioLoot says blocking the dash avoids its stun. |
These attack responses are described by StudioLoot’s Floor 10 guide and Throne and Liberty Online’s guide. If an attack cue or animation differs in your current version, prioritize what the game shows rather than assuming an older guide describes the live moveset exactly.
How to dodge the Oblivion Skeleton Commander’s attacks
Jump at the landing shockwave
When the commander leaps, prepare to jump as it comes down. The guides describe arena-wide damage on landing, so ordinary lateral movement may not be enough; the recommended answer is to be airborne at impact. Do not immediately relax after one landing, since the attack can repeat.

Get out of the dark-energy path
The dark cloud or energy attack travels forward before pulling back. Move to the side instead of standing in front of the boss. If you are caught and dragged, regain space and watch for the next cue rather than trying to remain close through the pull.
Escape after the below-half-health pull
Below half health, the commander can jump and forcibly draw you in before another dangerous attack. Once the pull ends, move away promptly; the follow-up is described as an explosive or area attack.

Block the dash when prompted
StudioLoot describes a rushing attack that stuns on contact and recommends blocking when the purple block indicator appears. The guide does not establish that every current version presents this cue identically, so use the on-screen indicator as your signal.
What level do you need for Taedal’s Tower Floor 10?
Published guides disagree, and they do not establish the requirement for the current live version. StudioLoot, updated August 13, 2024, and Throne and Liberty Online, dated May 1, 2024, list level 35 or higher and completion of Floor 9. Game8’s November 21, 2024 guide lists level 50. Check the current Floor 10 information in-game for the requirement that applies to your character.

What rewards does Commander’s Shadow Strike give?
Reward listings also differ between guides, so treat them as version-dependent rather than a current guaranteed table. Older guides list Rare Weapon, Armor, and Accessory Growthstones, Recovery Crystals, Sollant, experience, and Velvet Raven; Game8 lists Precious growthstones, Rare Recovery Crystals, currency, experience, and Velvet Raven. Check the in-game reward panel before attempting the floor if you need its current rewards or quantities.
Game8’s Morphs Guide reports Velvet Raven as a glide morph obtained from the encounter. That guide is marked work in progress, and its publisher says it ended coverage in March 2025, so the listing is not a guarantee for every current game version.

Which attack details may differ by version?
Game8 also describes melee swings and a charged sword-ground attack, but that account differs from the other guides. It is safer to treat those as reported attack details, not a definitive current moveset. For the most reliable response, watch the commander’s animation and the game’s own block or danger cues.
