What is the Monk vocation in Tibia?
The Monk is a melee vocation built to deal damage while also helping and healing allies. It joined Tibia’s four established vocations—knight, paladin, sorcerer, and druid—as the game’s fifth. CipSoft described the Monk as a martial-arts fighter who uses mystical powers against enemies and has abilities for supporting a party.

At the February 2025 announcement, CipSoft called it the first new vocation in Tibia’s 28-year history. That framing refers specifically to vocations; it does not mean the game had received no other additions during those years.
How do the Monk’s mechanics work?
CipSoft highlighted three distinctive mechanics: harmony, virtues, and serene. A contemporaneous development insight explains one part of the system: specific attack spells build harmony, which the Monk can store up to a maximum of five at a time.

The announcement material does not establish how every spell uses or changes harmony, so it is best not to infer a complete rotation or resource strategy from that description alone.
When did the Monk come out?
CipSoft’s February 10, 2025 announcement initially targeted a release in Q2 2025. The actual release followed on April 8, 2025, when the Monk became available in Tibia.
What content arrived with the Monk?
The launch introduced more than the vocation itself. CipSoft’s launch material lists a new Blue Valley area, 25 new spells, and over 70 new items. An earlier official item teaser said the item collection included 28 new weapons; its displayed examples were described as a representative preview, not a complete catalogue.
What changed after launch?
On April 24, 2025, CipSoft said the Monk was then slightly overperforming in sustain and damage. That was an early post-launch assessment, not a statement about the vocation’s balance today. The available dated information does not establish its October 2026 tuning, so it cannot support a current ranking against Tibia’s other vocations.

Why did CipSoft add a vocation after so long?
At announcement, CipSoft product manager Niadus described the idea as initially seeming “Too complex and too risky”. Niadus said further discussion made it feel possible and like “a natural step for the game.” The stated aim was to renew the sense of discovery associated with Tibia, rather than simply add another damage-focused role.
