The Monk is a close-range fighter built around martial arts and mystical abilities, with support and healing in its role.
When did Tibia add the Monk?
The Monk became playable on April 8, 2025. CipSoft announced the vocation on February 10, describing it as the first addition of its kind in Tibia’s 28-year history. The publisher says the game went online in 1997; the 28-year figure refers to the time of the 2025 announcement, not Tibia’s current age.
- February 10, 2025: CipSoft announced the Monk and said playtests would begin February 25.
- March 31, 2025: Tibia announced April 8 as the official launch date.

What kind of vocation is the Monk?
CipSoft describes the Monk as a melee fighter who combines martial-arts combat with mystical abilities. The vocation is also designed to support allies, including through healing. Its announcement highlights harmony, virtues and serenity as part of the vocation’s identity, but those themes alone do not explain exact spell effects or how to play a current build.

The design challenge, CipSoft said, was to fit a new vocation into Tibia’s established roles and interactions with its existing mechanics. Product manager Niadus described the addition as a chance to bring back discovery and encourage players to experiment with strategies and team compositions. That is the stated design goal, rather than evidence of a particular class ranking or required party setup.
How does the Monk compare with Tibia’s other vocations?
The Monk joined the four existing vocations: knight, paladin, sorcerer and druid. The clearest distinction established by CipSoft’s announcement is the Monk’s blend of close-range fighting, mystical abilities and ally support. The announcement does not establish a quantitative comparison of damage, healing, survivability or overall strength.

Players choosing between vocations can use the Monk’s announced role as a starting point, but should consult current official game documentation for spell details, rotations and balance. CipSoft reported in July 2026 that all classes had been overhauled, expanded and made more accessible in mid-June; that broad update does not, by itself, establish specific Monk changes. Tibia’s April 8, 2025 launch notice also introduced a digital in-game bundle with a mount, outfit and decoration. The outfit was cosmetic and provided no gameplay benefits. The launch notice does not establish whether the bundle remains available now.
