Start by identifying when the crash happens
Before changing settings, record what you see and what you were doing immediately before the game closed or stopped responding. This information helps distinguish one crash report from another, but does not by itself identify the cause.
- Crash stage: before the game opens, during loading, after reaching the menu, in a particular area, or in multiplayer.
- Frequency: whether it happens always, sometimes, or unpredictably.
- Trigger: the last action before the crash, plus any steps that reliably reproduce it.
- Message: the exact error text, if one appears.
- System details: Windows version, CPU, GPU, and installed RAM.

These are the store listing’s stated requirements, not a guarantee that a PC meeting them will be free of crashes. Likewise, a mismatch can be a useful thing to report, but it does not prove that it caused a particular crash. The SSD entry is a requirement check, not evidence that installing the game on an SSD will cure a crash.
Report a crash with details developers can use
For a crash that persists or can be reproduced, use the game’s in-game bug reporter or follow the report route linked in the pinned Steam post. The post, dated August 1, 2025, asks players to provide:

- Whether the issue is reproducible: unknown, sometimes, or always.
- Severity, such as minor, major, or crash.
- Where it happened and a one-sentence headline.
- A full description, including reproduction steps and what happened immediately beforehand.
- The game version shown at the bottom right of the entry screen.
- A screenshot or video, if possible.
The post says a DxDiag report can help. It also identifies the Windows save folder as C:UsersUSERNAMEAppDataLocalTQ2SavedSaveGames. Treat save files carefully: the folder location is useful context for a report, not a reason to delete saves as a generic troubleshooting step.

What is—and is not—established as a fix
The official game-specific guidance located for crash reports focuses on collecting reproducible details and reporting the issue. It does not establish one fix that works for Titan Quest II crashes generally, or a confirmed fix for a particular error message. A Steam launch-crash discussion includes official direction to report the problem, but a user’s compatibility-mode suggestion there is an anecdote, not a verified general solution.
That means steps such as rolling back a driver, editing configuration files, disabling overlays, deleting caches, reinstalling, or lowering settings should not be presented as proven Titan Quest II fixes.
