Ritual Shrines in Titan Quest II let you respec attributes, change world difficulty, respawn regional enemies, and unlock certain boss rematches. Choose Athena for character changes and Ares for world changes; before raising enemy levels, note that the currently reported difficulty cap differs by source and version.

What Athena rituals do
Reset Attributes
This option refunds all allocated attribute points in exchange for gold, making it useful when you want to change your build or meet different equipment attribute requirements. The official guide does not publish a current price. The v0.5.0 community guide adds that all allocated points are removed together and says this costs more than a skill respec; treat that cost comparison as version-specific community guidance.
Exit Neophyte Mode
This permanently changes the character from Neophyte to Normal. Select it only if you are ready to leave the easier starting mode; the official guide does not describe a way to reverse the choice.
What Ares rituals do
Adjust Difficulty
This paid option increases enemy levels. Its cap is unclear across the sources available: the Epic Games Store guide, dated August 1, 2025, describes increases of +1 to +5, while a Steam Community guide updated May 7, 2026 for v0.5.0 and a May 2026 Doope! report describe a range reaching +20. THQ Nordic’s official Update 7 notes identify v0.6.0, dated June 18, 2026, but do not document a Shrine change or give an updated cap. Check the live Shrine menu for the choices in your build rather than assuming either range is current.

The v0.5.0 community guide says raising enemy levels does not improve drop chances, while reporting better loot quality and gold amounts. That behavior is not confirmed by the official sources here, so do not treat it as a current guarantee. Update 7 raised the official maximum player level to 55; the level-50 item cap mentioned in the older community guide should not be assumed to apply now. Adjust Minimum Enemy Level
The official guide describes this as raising the minimum enemy level to your current level. The v0.5.0 community guide says it affects areas below your level while leaving areas already above it unchanged, and also says it can change item levels from chests, quest rewards, and shops. Those additional effects are community-reported for v0.5.0 and are not confirmed in the later official patch notes.

Respawn Enemies
This option brings regional enemies back for a gold cost. The official guide does not specify the amount or clarify whether bosses or chests are included. The v0.5.0 community guide says bosses are excluded and some environmental elements such as chests reset; regard those details as version-specific rather than an official current rule.
How to replay a boss with a Remnant
- Defeat a qualifying boss and obtain its maroon-colored Remnant. The official guide says only certain bosses drop Remnants and does not provide a complete list.
- Offer the Remnant at a Ritual Shrine to unlock that boss’s summoning function.
- Return to the boss’s chamber and use the summoning function, paying the required gold to start the rematch.
The Shrine unlock and the later summon are separate steps: simply respawning regional enemies is not the documented method for a boss rematch. Current summon costs and the full set of eligible bosses are not stated in the official guide. Epic Games Store guide.
