The documented mod is for the single-player campaign, not native or official VR support.
What changes when you play Titanfall 2 in VR?
Headset view and head movement
The dedicated titanfall2vr project documents stereo rendering and six-degrees-of-freedom (6DoF) head tracking. It also provides adjustable neck-model and eye-height settings. This gives you a tracked headset view instead of the conventional flat-screen presentation; the project documentation does not provide a controlled comparison of image quality or latency.
Weapon aiming
The mod supports aiming weapons with motion controllers and includes a grip-offset calibration setting. Its documented aiming options also include a zoom cap for aim-down-sights and an optional steadiness aid. These features change how you point weapons, but do not turn every in-game action into a hand gesture.
Movement, buttons, and the gamepad connection
The mod maps its VR controllers to the game as an Xbox-style controller, so Titanfall 2’s existing gamepad bindings still apply. It adds configurable turning and crouch modes, plus a d-pad modifier: all four d-pad directions are needed, so the modifier helps fit them into the VR control layout. Expect motion-based weapon aiming alongside familiar gamepad-style actions, rather than a fully gesture-driven control scheme.

HUD and Titan cockpit
HUD elements can be repositioned and scaled individually. The documented options cover elements such as ammo, the reticle, waypoints, and Titan cockpit components, letting you adjust their placement in the headset view.
How does that compare with flat-screen controls?
Flat-screen play uses Titanfall 2’s conventional gamepad or keyboard-and-mouse controls and does not include the VR mod’s stereo headset view, tracked head movement, or motion-controller weapon aiming. The VR mod retains the game’s controller bindings for its other inputs, so its main control distinction is motion-based weapon aiming—not a wholesale replacement of the game’s underlying control scheme.

Which VR route is being described?
Dedicated community mod
The titanfall2vr project describes a community VR mod for Titanfall 2’s single-player campaign. Its listed prerequisites are Titanfall 2 on Steam or the EA app, Northstar installed and able to launch the game, an OpenXR runtime, and a PC-VR-capable GPU. The documented install route places the mod DLL and INI file in Northstar’s plugins folder, then launches the campaign through Northstar. Requirements and installation details can change with project releases or game updates, so consult the project documentation for the version you intend to use.
vorpX
A vorpX forum explanation, last updated December 28, 2020, describes adjusting Titanfall 2’s FOV through its INI file and using mouse emulation for tracking; it says the profile does not use a memory-scanner button. The PortalVR listing characterizes this route as stereoscopic 3D VR with gamepad or keyboard-and-mouse controls and no motion aiming. Those descriptions distinguish it from the dedicated mod, but do not guarantee compatibility for every current setup.

UEVR input documentation is general context
UEVR’s controller-binding documentation describes defaults resembling an Xbox layout, with the left stick for movement and the right stick for rotation, and says bindings can be changed through OpenXR, SteamVR, or Steam Input. That is general UEVR input guidance; it does not establish UEVR as the dedicated Titanfall 2 route described above.

- Choose the dedicated mod if you want stereo headset rendering, tracked head movement, and motion-controller weapon aiming, and your PC setup meets the project’s OpenXR and GPU requirements.
- Prefer flat-screen controls if you want to use conventional gamepad or keyboard-and-mouse input without setting up a community VR mod.
- Consider the documented vorpX route if stereoscopic VR interests you but motion-controller aiming does not; verify current compatibility rather than treating older forum and community descriptions as a guarantee.
- Check the control trade-off: the dedicated mod combines motion-controller weapon aiming with gamepad-style bindings for other actions.
The available project and vendor/community documentation does not establish a winner for comfort, image quality, latency, or performance. It describes features and setup routes, not a controlled VR-versus-flat-screen test.
