NYT Connections puzzle #799 for Monday, August 18, 2025, groups its 16 words around indications, opportunities, hotel amenities and phrases that come before “watch.” Start with the spoiler-free nudges below, or jump to the full group answers when you’re ready.

TechRadar writer Johnny Dee recounted being drawn toward a billiards interpretation built around CUE, SHOT, POCKET and BREAK. That tempting cluster does not form a Connections group here: SHOT belongs with the opportunity words, while CUE and POCKET split into different categories.
