If a tough enemy survives, prioritize useful damage; if enemies slip through because a unit cannot reach or control them, look for range or crowd-control gains. Before spending, check the next level’s cost and actual stat changes.
How to decide what to upgrade first
- Identify the threat. Is a high-health enemy surviving, a group overwhelming the lane, or an enemy getting through because your placed unit cannot reach or control it? Match the purchase to the problem you are seeing.
- Inspect the next level. Check the unit’s upgrade panel or a current stat table for the cost and changes that matter to your situation, such as damage, cooldown, range, or control. Rarity and appearance alone do not tell you whether an upgrade is useful.
- Compare the gain with the cost. Upgrade if the added capability addresses the threat and the cost fits your available match currency. Otherwise, hold your currency for a better-targeted upgrade.
- Reassess as waves change. An upgrade that helped against one wave may not solve the next group, boss, or control problem. Compare units you own and can afford, including how their roles fit the rest of your loadout.
This is a practical decision method for the wave-based Roblox game, not a tested build or a developer-published universal order. Roblox describes the experience as placing units to fight invading toilets and beating waves or surviving Endless Mode; it does not prescribe which unit to upgrade first. Why there is no universal first unit
The best first upgrade depends on the map, wave, units you have, and the problem your current setup needs to solve. Available sources do not establish a verified ranking across the roster or a damage-per-cost order. Compare only realistic choices: whether a unit addresses the threat, what relevant damage or utility its next level adds, what it costs, and whether its range or attack cadence matters for the situation.
Example: Boss Toilet’s listed upgrade costs and stats
The community-maintained Boss Toilet unit page lists four levels. Its figures illustrate why it is worth comparing a level’s cost with what it changes; they are not a recommendation to upgrade Boss Toilet first or a comparison against every unit.
