What it is

UE Viewer is a free, open-source program for viewing and extracting resources from Unreal Engine games. It loads packages from more than 300 games across Unreal Engine generations and supports command-line viewing and exporting. The program displays skeletal, vertex, and static meshes; skeletal views can include bone hierarchies and vertex bindings. Supported materials can be inspected, although some material types are unsupported. Exports include meshes and animations for formats used by 3D modeling software and Unreal Engine, textures as TGA or DDS, plus sounds, ScaleForm, and FaceFX. Listed file types include UPK, XXX, UKX, UMAP, PAK, OBB, PSK, PSA, PSKX, MD5MESH, MD5ANIM, glTF, TGA, DDS, and MAT. Windows and Linux downloads are provided. Linux has no GUI and runs from the command line; macOS support is described as a command-line exporter without visualization or multithreading. Additive animations do not work.
