In short
UABEA: Windows and Linux builds, batch operations and an MIT license make it easy to fit into a personal workflow. The decision changes when the task depends on mesh pipelines, audio encoding, video assets or the newest Unity releases. Those areas have documented gaps and extra file handling. Treat UABEA as an editor for targeted changes, not a universal extractor or asset-conversion suite.
UE Viewer: UE Viewer provides broad Unreal Engine package viewing and extraction with extensive export options. Its interface and feature limits differ by platform, and some asset types remain unsupported.
