Total War: SHOGUN 3 has no release date or release window in the official SEGA announcements reviewed as of October 8, 2026. SEGA has announced other Total War games and a separate SHOGUN 2 Complete Edition, but none of those announcements confirms a third SHOGUN game.
Is Total War: SHOGUN 3 confirmed?

Why do some Total War dates cause confusion?
SHOGUN 2 Complete Edition is a separate release
SEGA announced Total War: SHOGUN 2 – Complete Edition for PC storefronts with an English-language release date of October 13, 2026 (BST). SEGA’s Japanese announcement presents the date as October 14, reflecting regional date presentation. This edition packages SHOGUN 2 and its campaigns; it is not SHOGUN 3. A no-date statement applies to WARHAMMER 40,000
A game-director note on SEGA’s Total War Asia portal says, “We’re not sharing a release date at this time, but will have lots more to talk about later in 2026.” The note is about Total War: WARHAMMER 40,000, not SHOGUN 3, so it says nothing about the latter’s development or schedule. Until SEGA or Creative Assembly makes a specific announcement, any claimed SHOGUN 3 release date or window should be treated as speculation. SEGA reported more than 48.3 million copies sold across the Total War franchise in 2025, but that franchise-wide figure is not a sales or demand statistic for SHOGUN 3.
