Total War: WARHAMMER III — How to Recruit Aekold Helbrass

To recruit Aekold Helbrass in Total War: WARHAMMER III, reach level 12 with an eligible Tzeentchian or selected Warriors of Chaos Legendary Lord, complete the Tale of the Truth Path quest chain, construct the building required by your faction group, and choose to recruit Aekold at the final decision. A CA Account or Total War Access link is no longer required.

How to unlock Aekold Helbrass

1. Play a Total War: WARHAMMER III campaign as an eligible Tzeentchian or selected Warriors of Chaos Legendary Lord.

3. Construct the building for your faction group:

   • Tzeentch: Chapterhouse of Knowledge.

   • Warriors of Chaos: Warriors’ Hall.

   • Daemonic factions: Monument of Tzeentch.

4. Complete the subsequent quest steps. At the final decision, choose to recruit Aekold if you want him in your campaign.

SEGA’s support FAQ does not list every eligible Legendary Lord by name, so eligibility should not be assumed for every lord in those broad faction categories. The FAQ also describes the final decision without documenting the exact wording of each option.

Do you need to link a CA Account?

No. SEGA Support’s older Aekold FAQ still contains account-registration language, but Creative Assembly later announced in its Patch 6.3 dev blog that account-linking requirements were removed for five named free characters, including Aekold. Follow the later patch announcement on this point rather than the FAQ’s outdated account instruction.

Which game includes Aekold?

Aekold is a free Legendary Hero and Champion of Tzeentch, and SEGA says he is playable only in Total War: WARHAMMER III, not the first two games in the trilogy. SEGA’s support page gives the unlock steps and level requirement: CA Account Promotion: Aekold Helbrass.
