It uses electricity to heat steam-generating tubes directly and is rated at 2 to 25 ton/h of equivalent evaporation capacity per unit. The boiler itself burns no fuel and therefore produces no flue-gas emissions; reducing the carbon intensity of the steam supply depends on using renewable electricity.
How g-Steam makes steam
Toyo Engineering describes g-Steam as a tube-type electric boiler based on technology refined over many years for auxiliary boiler systems at nuclear power plants. Electricity is applied directly to the steam-generating tubes, heating them through Joule heating. In the product description, the company says, “g-Steam generates steam through Joule heating by applying electricity directly to the steam-generating tubes.”
Capacity and intended applications
The reported capacity is 2 to 25 ton/h of equivalent evaporation per unit, which Toyo Engineering positions for medium- to large-scale steam requirements. The company identifies pharmaceuticals, cosmetics, and food and beverage manufacturing as potential application sectors. The October 6, 2026 product coverage does not identify a customer installation or deployed project.
What the emissions claim means
Because g-Steam does not burn fuel, the boiler itself produces no flue-gas emissions, according to Toyo Engineering. That is distinct from the emissions associated with generating the electricity it consumes. The company says renewable electricity can reduce the carbon intensity of steam delivered to a manufacturing facility, but the available product information gives no lifecycle-emissions calculation or quantified reduction.

Toyo Engineering says g-Steam has a wide load-control range and responds rapidly, allowing it to accommodate changes in steam demand and in the availability of renewable power such as solar and wind. The company also describes the design as simple, with fewer auxiliary systems, and says reduced maintenance and inspection tasks may lower maintenance costs while push-button operation may reduce operator workload. No response times, turndown figures, service intervals, or independently measured operating results are stated.
What a plant should verify before procurement
The published product information does not state price, operating pressure, electrical-service requirements, project lead time, sales geographies, independent efficiency results, or service coverage. A facility evaluating an electric boiler should confirm these points with the supplier and assess how the equipment fits its own steam system.

- Available electrical capacity, grid connection requirements, and the cost and emissions intensity of delivered electricity.
- Load response and turndown under the facility’s actual operating conditions.
- Water quality, auxiliary equipment needs, installation footprint, and integration with existing systems.
- Maintenance responsibilities, service availability, and total project cost.
