It is a Transformers × Monster Hunter product that changes from a Rathalos monster form into Optimus Prime, the Autobot leader. It was a Japan-market release with a planned launch in late July 2025, so it is a 2025 product that is no longer new in October 2026.
What the figure is
Rathalos Prime combines Monster Hunter’s Rathalos with Transformers’ Optimus Prime. Takara Tomy’s official Japanese Transformers listing describes it as transforming from Monster Hunter monster mode into Optimus Prime. The crossover also includes two extras that define the concept:
- A Charge Blade-inspired transforming and combining weapon. The Charge Blade is one of the signature weapons in the Monster Hunter series, and the figure’s weapon is styled after it while also working as part of the transformation.
- A collaboration Matrix. The official listing includes a Matrix as part of the set, tying the piece to Transformers lore.
Price, release timing and age rating (Japan)
Takara Tomy’s listing gives a tax-inclusive suggested retail price of ¥7,150 and a recommended age of 15 and up. The planned release was late July 2025. These are Japan-market details from the official listing; the pages do not establish a price or availability outside Japan.
Rathalos Prime and Silver Rathalos Prime
Takara Tomy later listed a second version, Silver Rathalos Prime. The official listing describes it as a rare-species-color version of Rathalos Prime rather than a new transformation design. The comparison below uses only the values stated in the official Japanese listings.

If you are looking for the Optimus Prime transformation, the standard Rathalos Prime is the version the official listing describes. Silver Rathalos Prime differs in color and rarity framing; the listing does not say it changes the transformation.
Why the anniversary tie-in matters
Capcom’s announcement frames the collaboration as commemorating Transformers’ 40th anniversary and Monster Hunter’s 20th anniversary. The same Capcom release gives a Monster Hunter series figure of 103 million cumulative sales as of June 30, 2024. That number is a Capcom series-wide total from that date, not a sales figure for this toy.

Can you still buy it?
The official pages establish the planned Japanese release dates, not current stock. Both dates have passed, so any copy you find will be a resale or secondary-market listing, or a remaining retail stock item, and neither the price nor availability is confirmed here. Before buying, check that the listing names Rathalos Prime (or Silver Rathalos Prime, if you want that color) and includes the transforming weapon and Matrix described above.

- Story video. Takara Tomy’s official T-SPARK story page shows the collaboration story, but the video uses development design data, and the final shape and coloring may differ from the product.
- Quotations. The official pages do not include a statement from a named spokesperson. The page’s dialogue is fictional story text and should not be read as a company quote.
- Series context. Takara Tomy’s English SYNERGENEX overview places the collaboration within its product series and describes Japanese sales channels, including electronics retailers, hobby and model shops, online stores and Takara Tomy Mall. It does not confirm current stock.
The short version: Rathalos Prime is a real Transformers × Monster Hunter figure that converts into Optimus Prime, and it is a 2025 Japanese release. Current price and availability should be checked directly with sellers rather than assumed from the original launch.
