What does the Trickster do?
Rather than being defined by straightforward direct damage, Trickster’s stated identity is controlling the fight through deception while supporting the party. Its illusions can manipulate enemy attention, creating openings for Pawns and the Arisen to act. The official description establishes this role, but does not provide a complete damage profile or a numerical comparison with other vocations.

Trickster is exclusive to the Arisen, so it is not a vocation for the main Pawn. The official Dragon’s Dogma 2 page describes it as a vocation that conjures illusions through smoke from its unique weapon, the Censer, and says it can deceive enemies into fighting one another and temporarily increase Pawn power.
How the Censer and smoke shape combat
The Censer is the source of Trickster’s defining illusion mechanic: its smoke enables deception rather than simply serving as a conventional offensive weapon. In practical terms, the vocation asks you to think about where enemies are looking and moving, and how your party can benefit when their attention is diverted.

A Windows Central vocation guide describes Sweeping Shroud as smoke that attracts the attention of targets it touches. It also gives examples of drawing enemies toward an illusion and creating deceptive platforms that appear to offer a safe route. These are guide-described tactics, not a guarantee that every enemy or encounter will react the same way.
Where Trickster fits in a party
Trickster’s clearest party contribution is the combination of enemy misdirection and temporary Pawn enhancement. That makes its value closely tied to how the party can use the space or opening created by deception: Pawns may take advantage while enemies are occupied, and the Arisen can help shape the encounter rather than relying only on direct attacks.
