Try these 10 troubleshooting steps
Work from the first checks toward the more involved options. If the crash happens during play rather than at launch, skip steps that do not fit and note when the failure occurs.
#1 Best Overall
- UK PSN account may be required for any online features
-
Record when and how the crash happens
Note whether TRON: Catalyst closes on launch, at a particular scene, or after a repeatable action. Write down any error code and, if possible, capture a screenshot or video. This information can help support understand and reproduce the problem.
-
Confirm the game finished downloading and installing
For a digital copy, check that the download and installation are complete before launching. An incomplete installation is a basic issue to rule out before changing settings or reinstalling.

Restore licenses if access may be the issue
If the game is inaccessible or you suspect a licensing problem, use the PS5’s restore-licenses option. It is part of PlayStation’s game-start guidance and is most relevant when access or licensing—not just an in-game crash—is in question.
-
Check whether the existing save is involved
PlayStation’s crash guidance suggests testing the game without an existing save to check for possible save corruption. Protect your progress first: back up or otherwise preserve save data, and do not delete your only copy just to run this test.

Reinstall the game if simpler checks fail
PlayStation recommends deleting and redownloading a game that will not start, and also lists reinstalling in its crash guidance. Reinstall only after considering how your save data is protected; reinstalling the game and deleting a save are separate actions.
-
Use Safe Mode procedures as a later step
PlayStation’s launch troubleshooting flow lists Clear Cache and Rebuild Database. Before selecting either option, read PlayStation’s current launch troubleshooting instructions and follow its linked Safe Mode guidance exactly. Do not select options based on a guess about what they do.
If TRON: Catalyst still crashes
PlayStation’s general freeze-and-crash guidance and game-launch support page provide the relevant platform troubleshooting routes. When contacting PlayStation Support, include the error code, when the crash occurs, what you were doing, steps that reproduce it, and any screenshot or video you captured. Those details are more useful than reporting only that the game crashes.
