A 32-bit GameLoop installation can run normally on 64-bit Windows. That does not make the DLL suitable for System32 or SysWOW64. The correct location is normally beside the application components that load it.
The exact internal purpose and exported functions of tsscom.dll are not publicly documented in dependable Tencent or Microsoft documentation. For troubleshooting, its ownership and installation path matter more than guessing what each function does.

The wording and capitalization vary between Windows versions and calling programs. These messages all indicate that the application loader could not use the expected component.

Fix 1: Reinstall GameLoop completely
This is the most reliable fix when GameLoop is the affected program. The installer should place the correct tsscom.dll beside the other Tencent components and restore dependencies that a standalone download cannot provide.
- Save any work and close GameLoop.
- Right-click the GameLoop icon in the notification area and choose the option to exit it.
- Open Control Panel.
- Select Programs > Programs and Features.
- Right-click GameLoop and select Uninstall.
- Restart Windows.
- Download a fresh installer from the official GameLoop website.
- Run the installer and choose a normal local drive.
- Start GameLoop and reinstall or repair the affected game.
If the uninstaller is missing or fails, open Settings > Apps > Installed apps, locate GameLoop, select the three-dot menu, and choose Uninstall. If Windows offers a repair option, use it first when you want to preserve the current installation, then perform a full reinstall if the error remains.
Do not install over a directory copied from another computer. Do not mix files from an older GameLoop release with a newer launcher. A mismatched group of DLLs can produce the same loader error even when tsscom.dll is present.
Confirm that the reinstall worked
After installation, open the GameLoop directory and search within its installation folder for TSSCom.dll. A normal location is under the TxGameAssistant directory, not a Windows system directory.

Then launch GameLoop:
- If it opens and the game starts, the application dependency has been restored.
- If GameLoop opens but one game fails, repair that game’s files through the launcher.
- If the file vanishes again immediately, stop reinstalling and check antivirus history.
Fix 2: Check Windows Security quarantine
Microsoft Defender or another antivirus product may remove a file because it is corrupted, altered, or falsely identified. A Tencent-related path alone is not enough to prove that every copy is safe.
- Open Windows Security from the Start menu.
- Select Virus & threat protection.
- Under Current threats, select Protection history.
- Review recent entries for
TSSCom.dll, GameLoop, orTxGameAssistant. - Open an entry and inspect the detected path and action.
- If the file came from the expected GameLoop installation and the installation is legitimate, review the available restore option.
- If the location is temporary, unrelated, or unknown, do not restore it.
- Run a scan, then reinstall GameLoop from its official source.
A digital signature can help establish publisher identity. Observed legitimate copies have reported a Tencent Technology (Shenzhen) Company Limited signature, but a valid signature does not independently prove that every copy is safe. Check the full path, signature, and antivirus result together.
To inspect a file manually:
- Right-click
TSSCom.dll. - Select Properties.
- Open the Digital Signatures tab if it exists.
- Select the signer and choose Details.
- Confirm that Windows reports the signature as valid.
- Open the General and Details tabs and compare the location with the GameLoop installation.
If GameLoop repeatedly loses the file after a clean reinstall, investigate antivirus exclusions and detections before creating any exclusion. Do not disable protection simply to make the error disappear.
Fix 3: Repair GameLoop or its game files
Some failures attributed to tsscom.dll are actually caused by damaged files in the launcher or the game it starts.

Look through GameLoop’s settings or game-management screen for Repair, Verify, or a similar maintenance option. Run it with GameLoop closed if the launcher provides an offline repair utility, then reopen the program.
If the affected title is distributed through Steam:
- Open Steam.
- Select Library.
- Right-click the game and choose Properties.
- Select Installed Files.
- Choose Verify integrity of game files.
- Wait for the process to finish.
- Start the game again.
If verification repairs the game but GameLoop itself still reports a missing DLL, return to the complete GameLoop reinstall. File verification cannot rebuild a missing launcher component.

Fix 4: Check whether the path or architecture is wrong
Do not assume that a file with the right name is the right file.

A 32-bit DLL belongs with a 32-bit application. Windows 11 and Windows 10 can run that application on 64-bit Windows, but the file must still match the program that loads it. Copying a 32-bit file into C:WindowsSystem32 or C:WindowsSysWOW64 does not convert it and may introduce new failures.
Check the application folder rather than relying on a search result:
- Right-click the GameLoop shortcut.
- Select Properties.
- Open the Shortcut tab.
- Note the Target location.
- Open that directory in File Explorer.
- Search beneath it for
TSSCom.dll. - Compare the file location with the GameLoop or
TxGameAssistantpath.
If the file exists in the expected folder but the message says it is not designed to run on Windows, treat it as damaged or mismatched. Reinstall the application rather than moving or registering the file.
Fix 5: Repair Windows components with DISM and SFC
Because tsscom.dll is a third-party application file, System File Checker will not normally recreate it. These commands are appropriate when Windows itself has broader corruption, installers fail, or multiple applications show component errors.
- Open Start.
- Type
Command Prompt. - Right-click Command Prompt.
- Select Run as administrator.
- Run this command:
DISM.exe /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth
- Wait for DISM to complete.
- Run:
sfc /scannow
- Restart Windows.
- Try the GameLoop installer again.
Microsoft recommends running DISM before SFC. DISM repairs the Windows component store, while SFC checks protected Windows system files. Neither command replaces a missing GameLoop DLL reliably.
Repeatedly hunting through Windows components and rerunning SFC or DISM without knowing what changed can make diagnosis difficult. Outbyte PC Repair can show a scan of reported problems, while its repair actions require the full version; it is optional, and reinstalling GameLoop remains the definitive fix for this application-owned file.
If DISM or SFC reports errors it cannot repair, note the exact result and investigate Windows servicing, disk health, or a recent update. Do not download tsscom.dll to compensate for a failed SFC scan.

Fix 6: Install Visual C++ only when the error names it
There is no verified evidence that tsscom.dll itself is a Visual C++ runtime file. Installing Visual C++ is appropriate only when the same startup sequence also reports files such as:
VCRUNTIME140.dll
MSVCP140.dll
It is also reasonable when the GameLoop installer explicitly reports a runtime dependency failure.
Use Microsoft’s current supported Visual C++ Redistributable page, select the architecture required by the application, and install it. The required architecture is determined by the application, not simply by whether Windows is 64-bit.
Do not uninstall every existing Visual C++ package first. Multiple versions can coexist, and removing them may break unrelated programs. Restart Windows after installation and test GameLoop again.
DirectX, .NET, and Windows Features are not established causes of a missing tsscom.dll. Enable or repair those components only when the application reports a separate, specific dependency error. Do not turn on random Windows Features as a substitute for rebuilding GameLoop.

A graphics driver does not normally restore a missing GameLoop DLL. Check drivers when GameLoop starts but crashes with rendering errors, shows a blank window, or reports a device problem after the DLL issue has been resolved.
To update a driver through Windows:
- Right-click Start.
- Select Device Manager.
- Expand Display adapters.
- Right-click the graphics adapter.
- Select Update driver.
- Choose Search automatically for drivers.
- Restart Windows if a driver is installed.
For a rollback, right-click the device, choose Properties, open Driver, and select Roll Back Driver when Windows makes that option available.

Manually identifying which of many device drivers is stale can be tedious. Outbyte Driver Updater can scan and show reported driver issues, while driver installation through the full version is optional; it is not a replacement for reinstalling GameLoop when tsscom.dll is the missing application file.
Do not download or register the DLL manually
Random DLL download sites can provide malware, an altered file, the wrong architecture, or a version that does not match the rest of GameLoop. Even a clean copy may not fix the underlying missing dependencies or damaged installation.
Do not copy tsscom.dll into:
C:WindowsSystem32
C:WindowsSysWOW64
Do not use:
regsvr32 tsscom.dll
regsvr32 is for DLLs that provide registration entry points such as DllRegisterServer. There is no public evidence that tsscom.dll is a COM or ActiveX server. Registration will not repair a missing, corrupted, or mismatched GameLoop component.
If the error persists after reinstalling
If a clean reinstall still fails, work through these checks:
- Check antivirus history again. The file may be removed immediately after installation.
- Confirm the install path. A copied, redirected, or partially moved GameLoop folder can leave the launcher pointing at the wrong location.
- Test another Windows user profile. Create a local test account under Settings > Accounts > Other users, sign in, and launch GameLoop. If it works there, investigate profile permissions and configuration.
- Check for broader Windows failures. Run DISM and SFC if other applications also fail.
- Use System Restore if the problem began after a driver, update, or cleanup change and a suitable restore point exists. Open Control Panel > Recovery > Open System Restore, or run
rstrui.exe. - Scan suspicious copies. A
TSSCom.dllfile outside Tencent or GameLoop directories, especially in a temporary or startup folder, may be an impersonating file. Do not restore it merely because its name matches. - Contact GameLoop support with the exact error, installation path, Windows version, and antivirus action if the official installer cannot produce a working installation.

Is tsscom.dll a Windows file?
No. It is associated with Tencent software, especially GameLoop and the TxGameAssistant installation. It should not normally be stored in a Windows system directory.
Is tsscom.dll 32-bit or 64-bit?
Observed copies include 32-bit versions. A 32-bit GameLoop client can run on 64-bit Windows, but its DLL should remain with that application.

Not for this DLL alone. Install Visual C++ only when the error also names a Visual C++ runtime or the installer reports that dependency. Handle DirectX or .NET only when a separate error specifically identifies them.
Should I copy the file into System32 or SysWOW64?
No. Reinstall the application that owns it. System folders are not general storage locations for third-party DLLs.
Can I use regsvr32?
Usually no. It is a registration utility, not a general DLL repair command, and there is no verified evidence that this file requires COM registration.
What if antivirus calls the file malware?
Do not blindly restore it. Check the full path, signature, and detection details, scan the computer, and reinstall GameLoop from its official installer. A suspicious copy outside the expected Tencent directory should be treated as untrusted.
What is the safest fix?
Identify the GameLoop installation, remove the damaged client, and install a fresh copy from the official GameLoop source. That restores the matching file and the surrounding dependencies together.
