There is no single official Type Soul tier list: the rankings below are publisher assessments, and the best pick depends on your character system and whether you are building for PvP or PvE. Pocket Gamer’s May 21, 2026 guide covers Schrift, Shikai/Bankai, Res/Segunda, Fullbring elements, and clans; a separate Shikai guide checked September 9, 2026 places several abilities differently. Use the category tables as dated reference points, not game-issued ratings.
How to read the Type Soul tier list
Pocket Gamer uses S for meta, A for very good, B for good, C for usable, and D for poor. Those labels are its editorial judgments, not official Type Soul scores. Its May 21, 2026 rankings are reproduced below by category, with PvP and PvE separated for Fullbring elements.
These systems are not interchangeable: first identify whether you are comparing a Schrift, Shikai/Bankai, Res/Segunda, Fullbring element, or clan. Then weigh the ranking against your mode and how reliably you can use the ability’s role—such as control, burst, defense, or mobility. A tier label alone does not describe skill floor, conditionality, or fit for an individual build.

Choosing a build from a tier list
- Start with the system. Compare only options that belong to the progression path you are actually building.
- Choose for your mode. The Fullbring list explicitly separates PvP and PvE; for other categories, the May snapshot does not provide a mode-specific split.
- Consider consistency, not just ceiling. The September Shikai guide’s criteria—denial, defense, cooldown economy, and conditionality—are useful questions to ask when deciding whether a highly ranked kit suits your play.
- Check what you are rerolling. TypeSoulGame.wiki, a fan-made roster last updated May 10, 2026, describes Shikai rolls as involving both a tag pool and an RSE element, and says reset codes can reroll either. Treat that as secondary reference information, not official documentation.
Because rankings are editorial snapshots and the Shikai lists already show disagreement, use the tables to narrow options rather than assuming a tier guarantees performance in every matchup or build.
