Ubisoft acknowledged a technical issue in August 2024 that prevented a small number of players from linking Ubisoft+ subscriptions with Xbox. The company said it was investigating and advised affected players to contact support. The available sources do not confirm whether that issue was later fixed, so “no fix in sight” should not be read as a statement about the service today.
What Xbox subscribers reported in August 2024
Neowin reported on August 22, 2024, that some Xbox Ubisoft+ subscribers said they had been unable to access the subscription for more than a month. One subscriber described the problem this way: “About a month ago, Ubi+ just all of a sudden stopped working on my Xbox and hasn’t worked since.” That is an individual account, not a verified timeline for every affected player. Neowin’s report also described users discussing trouble reconnecting after unlinking accounts.
The reports concerned access through the Ubisoft+-Xbox subscription link, not a documented fault in a particular Xbox console component. The evidence does not establish a single technical cause or a reliable do-it-yourself fix.
What Ubisoft said
In a statement to Eurogamer quoted by the Times of India on August 22, 2024, Ubisoft said it was “aware of a technical issue affecting a small number of players’ ability to link their Ubisoft+ subscription with Xbox and are investigating.” The company added: “We will share an update with impacted players as soon as possible.” The Times of India report said a related subreddit thread had more than 150 comments at the time. That is a count of comments on one discussion, not a count or representative estimate of affected subscribers.

Ubisoft’s phrase “a small number” was qualitative; no population-level figure was supplied. The 2024 headline’s “no fix in sight” reflected the absence of a public repair timeline when that report was published, not a confirmed current status.
What to do if the subscription link is failing now
If you are currently unable to access a Ubisoft+ subscription on Xbox, contact Ubisoft Support. Its support page provides categories for account management, technical troubleshooting, and purchases and subscriptions, but does not document a specific remedy for the 2024 Xbox linking issue.

- Describe the Xbox and Ubisoft accounts involved, what happens when you try to access the subscription, and when the problem began.
- If the issue concerns a charge or activation, include relevant payment details when requested by support. A volunteer response to a separate Microsoft Q&A payment complaint suggested providing a receipt and purchase history; this is not official Ubisoft policy or proof that those documents resolve the linking fault. See the separate Microsoft Q&A exchange.
- Avoid unlinking and relinking accounts as a presumed fix. Contemporary reports included users who had difficulty reconnecting afterward, and the available evidence does not show that this procedure reliably solves the problem.
Why older Ubisoft+ details may not answer a current access problem
Ubisoft’s January 5, 2022 announcement said Ubisoft+ would come to Xbox and described a library of more than 100 Ubisoft games, including new releases, downloadable content, and classic games. That announcement is historical context, not confirmation of today’s catalogue or subscription terms. Read Ubisoft’s announcement.

The available reporting and support material do not provide a confirmed resolution or verified current status for the 2024 Xbox Ubisoft+ linking issue. They also do not establish how many subscribers were affected. A current problem should therefore be handled as an individual support case rather than assumed to be the same unresolved incident.
