The announcement describes an organizational identity and portfolio—not a confirmed transfer of every franchise team to Massive’s Swedish studio, nor a new game announcement.
What Ubisoft announced
Ubisoft says Creative House 2 teams will operate under the Massive Entertainment identity. The portfolio it names includes Tom Clancy’s The Division, Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon, Tom Clancy’s Splinter Cell and original IP, including March of Giants. Ubisoft also says it will publish and distribute games developed under the Massive Entertainment brand. Ubisoft’s announcement does not specify which team will develop each franchise or identify a new project.
Does this mean Splinter Cell and Ghost Recon are moving to Massive’s studio?
Not necessarily. The announcement establishes that the properties are part of the portfolio operating under the Massive Entertainment identity. It does not say that every team working on them has physically relocated to Massive’s Swedish studio, or that one studio will make every game in those series. The distinction matters: a shared organizational brand is not the same as a statement about where teams sit or how development is assigned.

How this fits Ubisoft’s reorganization
January 2026: Creative House 2 is established
On January 21, 2026, Ubisoft announced a company reset built around a new operating model, a refocused portfolio and organizational rightsizing. The company described Creative Houses as integrated units combining development and go-to-market functions, with financial responsibility. Creative House 2 was assigned competitive and cooperative shooter experiences, including The Division, Ghost Recon and Splinter Cell. Ubisoft also said it had reviewed its three-year roadmap and changed projects and development schedules. The January announcement explained the broader structure: CEO Yves Guillemot said, “At the center of this transformation are our Creative Houses, integrated business units now combining production and publishing and therefore unifying the gamer relationship.”

In its May 20, 2026 update, Ubisoft said it was finalizing the General Manager and leadership team for Creative House 2. It described a lighter release slate for FY2026-27 and a stronger pipeline for FY2027-28 and FY2028-29 that included Ghost Recon. That company-wide outlook is not a project-specific launch confirmation or a release date for a particular Ghost Recon game.
