UFO 50 launched on Nintendo Switch on August 7, 2025—the same day Nintendo announced it during its Indie World Showcase. The surprise was the timing: Nintendo said the collection would be available later that day, rather than teasing a future Switch release.
When did UFO 50 come out on Nintendo Switch?
Nintendo’s August 7, 2025 Indie World announcement included UFO 50 among the games available on Switch later that day. In that sense, it was a same-day or “shadow-drop” release: the announcement and availability arrived together, not as a date announcement for a later launch. Nintendo’s showcase announcement described the game as available later that day.

What is UFO 50?
Nintendo describes UFO 50 as a collection of 50 single-player and multiplayer games spanning several genres, including platformers, shoot ’em ups, puzzle games, and roguelites. It is a varied collection rather than a single game built around one genre. Nintendo’s announcement gives that broad description; it does not attribute it to a named individual.
