Prioritize the part of your build that best serves your main goal—not whichever category has the highest tier label. For damage, compare a sword, style or ability by the full rotation it enables and how reliably you can execute it. For support or utility, a lower-damage pick may be more valuable. The latest cited tier list considers both PvP and PvE, but it does not provide complete rankings for each mode or establish a universal best first investment.
How to choose what to prioritize
Start with the activity you care about, then compare each option by its job and the conditions needed to get value from it. A category label alone—sword, style or ability—does not tell you which upgrade will help your build most.
- Choose your main mode. Decide whether you are building for PvP, PvE, bosses or general play. The available guide discusses PvP and PvE together, but does not give a complete mode-by-mode ranking.
- Decide what your build needs. Identify whether you want a primary damage source, a support effect or utility such as mobility, crowd control or time stop.
- Assess practical damage. Look at the full rotation and what it takes to reach peak performance. Stacking, passive activation and phase mastery can affect how much damage you can reliably deliver.
- Factor in execution and access. Consider whether you can consistently perform the moveset and whether its learning curve or unlock grind is worth the payoff. The cited guide discusses these trade-offs for individual picks, but does not compare acquisition times across categories.
What the October 2026 tier list says
Destructoid’s Gordan Perisic published “Ultimate Legacy Piece Tier List – Best Sword, Style & Ability” on October 5, 2026; the page says it was updated that day with Chad and Queen of Hatred. Perisic says the rankings consider both PvP and PvE and compare swords with styles and abilities. Treat the placements as an editorial snapshot, not official balance data: game updates can change the order, and the guide does not cite standardized damage tests or win-rate data.
Swords: Ichigo True Bankai
The guide highlights Ichigo True Bankai among its top swords. Its Blood Chain setup requires stacking, while a full rotation can deliver high damage, according to the author. That makes it a candidate for players willing to manage its setup and rotation; the guide’s qualitative assessment does not establish how its damage compares in a controlled test.

The style rankings emphasize Yhwach/Almighty, Chad and The World (Over Heaven). The guide’s discussion makes activation, grind and utility part of their appeal, so a placement alone does not show how convenient each option will be for your build.

When utility matters more than a tier placement
A pick can be worthwhile without being your strongest standalone damage option. The guide notes that some lower-damage abilities, styles and weapons can provide passive buffs, time stop, mobility, crowd control or other utility. If your build needs one of those effects, judge the option by how it supports your plan rather than by its damage ranking alone.
Conversely, a highly ranked pick may be conditional: it can depend on setup, passive activation or mastery of its phases. A ranking tells you how the guide author evaluates an option, not whether it will be the most effective priority for your character, play style or main mode.

What the rankings do—and do not—establish
The tier list is useful as a dated comparison across swords, styles and abilities, and its author explicitly says it considers both PvP and PvE. It does not supply complete rankings separated by mode, a universal first-pick rule, standardized damage measurements, or a cross-category comparison of unlock time. Use its placements to identify candidates, then weigh each candidate’s role, rotation and execution demands against what you need.
Also make sure you are looking at the same Roblox experience. Search results include multiple games named Legacy Piece, and an available Roblox listing describing an open-world RPG is not confirmed as the experience covered by the Destructoid guide. Do not assume its controls or mechanics apply to the game in the tier list.
