The Unicorn in Oblivion Remastered is at Harcane Grove. Navigate to that named landmark rather than relying on a compass-style description, because guides orient the grove differently. The Unicorn is tied to Hircine’s Daedric quest, and Minotaurs are present in the area, so arriving prepared matters.
Where Harcane Grove is
A Remastered walkthrough from GameSpot places Harcane Grove a short distance from Hircine’s Shrine. Gamer Guides and other walkthroughs orient the grove from Bravil instead. Both descriptions point to the same area, but the directional wording differs, so treat the grove’s name as the reliable reference point and use your in-game map to confirm your position before you set out.
Bethesda’s general Remastered tips note that Clairvoyance may point to the last known location of a quest target, and that horses speed up travel across Cyrodiil. These tips are useful for orientation, but they do not give the Unicorn’s coordinates, so the grove’s name and its proximity to Hircine’s Shrine remain the practical guide.
Approaching the Unicorn safely
Minotaurs occupy the area around the grove, which makes it more dangerous than a quick pickup. A Remastered guide from Gamer Guides also warns that approaching with a weapon drawn can provoke the Unicorn. A safe approach looks like this:

If the Unicorn turns hostile, the sources do not describe a reliable way to calm it, so it is best to avoid drawing a weapon near it in the first place.
Hircine’s quest and the Unicorn’s horn
The Unicorn is the target of Hircine’s Daedric quest, which sends the player to Harcane Grove to obtain its horn. According to the GameSpot walkthrough, completing the quest rewards the player with Saviour’s Hide. The Unicorn therefore matters both as a quest objective and as the place where the quest’s main item is obtained.

Riding the Unicorn: mount versus quest
Original Oblivion guidance on the Steam community reports that the Unicorn can be mounted without starting Hircine’s quest, but that completing the quest costs the player the mount. This warning comes from guidance written for the original game. It is not independently confirmed as a Remastered rule, so treat it as a caution rather than a guaranteed outcome.
Your choice depends on what you want from the Unicorn:

- Elder Scrolls Fandom: Enabling travel between two planes, the Oblivion gates seen in The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion were created by Mehrunes Dagon to allow his fellow Daedra to travel around Tamriel causing chaos.

- Dimensions: It measures approximately 4 x 3 inches and comes with a display stand in its presentation box.

- If you want to ride the Unicorn: hold off on starting Hircine’s quest, since the original-game warning suggests that completing it ends your access to the mount.
- If you want Saviour’s Hide: complete the quest, accepting that the Remastered outcome for the mount is unconfirmed and may differ from the original game.
What the sources do not establish
- No map coordinates for Harcane Grove are given by Bethesda’s Remastered tips or the walkthroughs reviewed.
- Whether the Unicorn remains mountable after the quest is confirmed only for the original Oblivion, not for Remastered.
- No named statistic or official quotation about the grove or the quest is available.
Use the grove’s name and the Hircine’s Shrine landmark to find the Unicorn, approach with your weapon sheathed, and decide on the quest only after you know whether you want to keep the mount.
