What Ubisoft has—and has not—confirmed
Ubisoft’s UNO support page, updated June 9, 2026, lists Xbox Wireless Controller and Xbox Elite Wireless Controller Series 2 as supported on Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S. That is controller compatibility information, not confirmation that changing controllers fixes a crash.

Ubisoft also provides a No Network troubleshooting article. It addresses a network error; it does not establish that connectivity steps resolve a crash after pressing A. The support material reviewed does not identify a cause or confirm a current Xbox-specific fix.
Which crash are you experiencing?
Individual players in older discussions have reported UNO freezing or crashing at the start screen, crashing after pressing A, or failing to start on Xbox One S and Xbox Series X. These reports do not show how common the problem is now, or prove that different symptoms have different causes.

- At the title screen: Note whether the game freezes before you can make a selection or exits to the Xbox dashboard.
- After pressing A: Record whether the crash happens immediately, after a delay, or only when attempting to continue online.
- Console generation: Include the exact model, such as Xbox One S or Xbox Series X|S; reports across models do not establish a model-specific cause.
Unverified suggestions players have reported
Community discussions have mentioned disabling Auto HDR and trying a different Xbox profile. These are anecdotal suggestions, not Ubisoft-endorsed fixes, and there is no verified evidence that either resolves this crash.
Try disabling Auto HDR
If Auto HDR is enabled, you could turn it off temporarily and test UNO again. Because this is an unverified suggestion, treat the result as a troubleshooting observation rather than proof of a fix. You can restore the setting if it makes no difference.

Consider another Xbox profile cautiously
Some players have suggested trying a different Xbox profile, potentially with Ubisoft Connect account setup. Before changing profiles or account links, make sure you can still access your original Xbox and Ubisoft accounts, and check how your progress is linked. Available information does not establish whether progress transfers or remains intact after a profile change. Do not unlink accounts or risk access to your existing profile just to test this suggestion.

Ubisoft’s UNO support index asks bug reports to describe when the issue occurs, the expected behavior, and any workaround found. Include enough detail for support to distinguish a title-screen failure from a crash after input:

- What you see immediately before the crash, including whether it happens before or after pressing A.
- Whether you were online or offline when it happened.
- Relevant Ubisoft account or account-linking behavior, without sharing passwords or other sensitive credentials.
- Any troubleshooting you attempted and whether it changed the behavior.
These details help describe and investigate your case; they do not imply that a particular cause or solution has been identified.
