How to make Pollen in a Grinder
- Collect flowers. The recipe lists any flower as a valid input.
- Put 20 flowers into a Grinder.
- Collect the 10 Pollen produced.
Pollen comes from refining flowers at the station, rather than gathering it directly from flowers in the world. The same 20-to-10 conversion is also described in PC Gamer’s May 24, 2023 guide. The item database identifies its game-data version as 1.1.13.0-r99712-b17 and says it was updated September 5, 2026; recipes may change in later updates. See the Pollen item entry.
How to keep flowers coming in
You can harvest plants you find, or build a longer-term supply by collecting seeds and planting them in growing plots at your castle. The Seeds & Saplings reference lists harvesting plants, herb and potion vendors, containers, golden chests, and certain creature or event drops among possible seed sources.
Using cotton as a seed-sourcing example
Cotton is listed in Dunley Farmlands and Cotton Farms, while Cotton Seed is associated with Rural Herb & Potion Merchants in the seed reference. This is one documented way to build a repeatable flower supply; the recipe does not establish that cotton is more efficient than other flowers.

What Pollen is used for
One documented use is making Coarse Thread at a Loom. Its listed recipe requires 12 Pollen and 8 Plant Fibre. The item recipe table lists those ingredients.
Automating Pollen into Coarse Thread
If you want to route materials between stations, a Redistribution Engine can send Grinder output to a Loom for Coarse Thread production. The Redistribution Engine reference describes this kind of routing. It is an optional way to connect production stations, not a different method of obtaining Pollen.
