Those minimums are above Elden Ring’s listed CPU, memory, and GPU examples, while Lords of the Fallen provides a closer comparison. The figures below are requirement-list comparisons, not promises of a particular frame rate.
Valor Mortis PC requirements at a glance
AMD’s official “Experience Valor Mortis with AMD Gaming Technologies” page publishes two hardware tiers under “Recommended Hardware.” Both tiers require Windows 11, DirectX 12, 50 GB of available space on an SSD, and 16 GB of RAM. AMD does not attach a resolution, graphics preset, or frame-rate target to either tier. The figures were checked on October 13, 2026, and can change before or after launch.

What the minimum tier actually tells you
The minimum row establishes the configuration AMD considers supportable, not the visual quality or frame rate you should expect. Without a stated target, it is not possible to translate that row into “1080p at 60 fps,” a preset name, or a guarantee of smooth play. A desktop with the listed parts can still behave differently because of cooling, power limits, drivers, background software, game patches, and the rest of the system.
Why the recommended tier matters
The recommended row raises the processor and graphics class substantially while leaving memory and capacity unchanged. That pattern suggests that rendering and CPU headroom are the principal step-up factors in AMD’s published guidance; it does not prove what settings or resolution the game will use. Treat the recommended hardware as a safer starting point for higher settings, not as a measured performance target.

Valor Mortis versus Elden Ring
Elden Ring’s requirements come from its Steam support listing. The comparison is useful because both games are action RPGs built around Soulslike combat, but the lists were produced by different publishers and at different times. Model names from AMD and Intel, and graphics cards from different generations, are not exact performance equivalents.

Where Valor Mortis sets a higher bar
On the published minimum rows, Valor Mortis asks for a newer and stronger CPU example, more system memory, and a considerably newer Radeon example than Elden Ring. That makes the newer game’s listed entry point more demanding on paper. The recommended CPU and GPU rows also point to a higher graphics ceiling for Valor Mortis, although neither source supplies a controlled benchmark that would quantify the difference.
Where Elden Ring asks for more
Elden Ring lists the larger nominal installation size. That does not make it more demanding to render, but it does affect free-drive planning. Valor Mortis explicitly requires an SSD in both tiers, whereas the Elden Ring entry shown here does not attach that same SSD wording to its table.

Valor Mortis versus Lords of the Fallen (2023)
Lords of the Fallen’s figures are taken from its official support FAQ. They form a closer comparison in memory and graphics hardware, but the operating-system and storage wording differs. The official FAQ and the Steam listing also present different levels of detail for the recommended target, so those statements should not be merged.

How to interpret the overlap
Valor Mortis places the RX 6700 in its minimum tier, while Lords of the Fallen places that same model in its recommended tier. That is a striking difference in labeling, but it is not proof that one game runs faster on the card. The games may use different engines, settings, resolutions, and frame-time targets. Lords of the Fallen’s official FAQ also lists less memory at minimum, while its recommended memory matches Valor Mortis.
The Lords of the Fallen FAQ inspected here does not include a resolution or frame-rate target in its recommended block. A separate Steam listing describes 1080p High Quality Settings and 60 FPS, but that precise target should not be attributed to the FAQ or transferred to Valor Mortis.

Check whether your current PC is in range
Compare your complete system rather than matching one part in isolation. The following process avoids the most common mistakes when reading a requirement table.

- Confirm Windows. Valor Mortis lists Windows 11, not Windows 10. Check your edition and whether the machine can run the required operating-system version before evaluating hardware.
- Identify the exact CPU. Read the full processor model in Windows System Information, Task Manager, or your motherboard utility. A laptop Ryzen 7 with a similar name can have very different power limits from a desktop Ryzen 7 3700X.
- Identify the exact GPU and VRAM. Use Task Manager’s Performance tab or the graphics driver panel. “Radeon RX” is not one performance level; mobile versions, reduced-power cards, and older generations can differ substantially.
- Check installed memory. The listed figure is system RAM, not graphics memory. Confirm both capacity and whether your system is using all installed modules in dual-channel mode.
- Check the installation drive. Reserve more than the listed capacity for the game’s installation process, patches, shader caches, and your operating system. The SSD requirement means a hard-drive-only setup does not meet AMD’s stated configuration.
- Update before diagnosing. Install a current graphics driver and Windows updates, then close unnecessary launchers, browsers, overlays, and recording tools before your first performance test.
What the requirements do—and do not—predict
CPU headroom
A modern action game can become CPU-limited in crowded scenes, during streaming, or when background tasks compete for processor time. The requirement list gives model examples, not a benchmark score. Core count, sustained clock speed, cooling, and firmware settings can all change results, especially on compact desktops and laptops.
GPU workload
The graphics card usually determines the practical resolution and quality range, but the published table does not say whether the minimum GPU targets low, medium, or high settings. It also does not state whether upscaling, ray tracing, or a frame-generation mode is expected. Do not infer support for those features from the card names alone.

Memory and storage behavior
Having the listed RAM capacity does not eliminate stutter caused by a slow drive, a nearly full SSD, or competing applications. An SSD can improve loading and asset streaming, yet it cannot compensate for a GPU that is below the stated class. Keep adequate free space after installation instead of treating the capacity figure as a recommended free-space buffer.

A shortfall in one category does not automatically tell you what upgrade will help. Prioritize the component that is actually limiting your system and verify compatibility first.
- Below the GPU example: check power-supply capacity, case clearance, connectors, and motherboard support before considering a replacement.
- Below the CPU example: confirm socket compatibility, BIOS support, cooler capacity, and whether a platform upgrade is required.
- Below 16 GB of RAM: check the number of occupied slots, supported module sizes, and whether a matched kit is preferable to mixing modules.
- Using only a hard drive: move the installation to an SSD with enough working space; do not assume an external or heavily shared drive will behave like an internal system SSD.
- On Windows 10: verify operating-system eligibility before spending on components, because AMD’s published Valor Mortis minimum names Windows 11.
No component recommendation can be justified from these lists alone. Current prices, motherboard compatibility, laptop upgrade limits, driver behavior, and measured performance would need to be checked for the individual machine.

Availability and version caveat
A Steam store search result captured on October 13, 2026 showed an October 13, 2026 release date and indicated that the game was not yet available on Steam at the time of the crawl. The full store page stopped at an age-check screen during that check. AMD’s official page is therefore the source for the requirement values above. Recheck the live store listing and AMD’s page immediately before purchase or publication, because launch patches and updated specifications can change the practical requirements.
Bottom line for buyers
Use the minimum row as a compatibility screen, not a performance promise. Valor Mortis is listed above Elden Ring’s minimum in processor, memory, and graphics examples, and its SSD requirement is explicit. Against Lords of the Fallen, it shares the 16 GB recommended-memory level but assigns the RX 6700 to a more demanding-looking minimum tier. The only defensible conclusion from the published data is that Valor Mortis has a comparatively high stated entry point; its actual frame rate and settings remain unestablished until AMD or the developer publishes targets or reliable tested results.
