VALORANT’s Overdrive collection is a five-item weapon-and-melee set: Sheriff, Stinger, Bucky and Vandal skins, plus a blade-style melee. Its reported launch price was 8,700 VP. Whether that bundle is worth considering depends less on any gameplay benefit—which Riot says cosmetics are not designed to provide—and more on how often you use those weapons and whether you like the collection’s look and sound. The launch figures are historical, not a current offer, and current availability is unconfirmed.

- Vandal
- A blade-style melee item
The report also lists a player card, spray and gun buddy among the bundle accessories, and says the skins have upgrade options using Radianite Points. Those details describe the launch collection; the report does not establish current availability or current individual-item offers. ge.globo’s launch report uses the Portuguese collection name, “Sobrecarga.”
What was the reported price?

| Item | Reported launch price |
|---|---|
| Bundle | 8,700 VP |
| Each weapon skin | 2,175 VP |
| Blade-style melee | 4,350 VP |
At those reported figures, the melee cost twice as much as one weapon skin. The bundle is a useful comparison only if you want several of its contents: compare the items you would actually choose with the historical bundle price, but do not assume the original offer is still available.
How to judge whether Overdrive fits your loadout
Start with the weapons you actually use
The lineup covers the Sheriff, Stinger, Bucky and Vandal. The practical value of the set therefore depends on whether those weapons appear often in your matches and whether you want their appearance customized. If only one weapon in the collection matters to you, a bundle price does not make the other items useful by itself.

Decide whether the style appeals to you
Visual theme, firing sounds, animations and effects are matters of taste. The available reporting establishes the collection’s composition and launch pricing, but it does not provide a hands-on evaluation of those qualities. Inspect the items in the client when they are available rather than treating an untested description as a review of how they look or sound in play.
Consider the melee separately
The blade-style melee may be the collection’s draw if you value its design more than the weapon skins. Its reported launch price was 4,350 VP, so it represented half of the reported 8,700 VP bundle price. That comparison is historical; it does not show what the melee would cost, or whether it can be bought individually, in a future offer.

What VALORANT skins can—and cannot—do
Riot’s VALORANT Store and Cosmetic Content guide says VP is premium currency purchased with real money in the game client. Riot also says weapon and melee skins are cosmetic customizations, not features intended to confer a positive or negative gameplay advantage. Do not buy Overdrive expecting better aim, damage, visibility or competitive performance.
Riot Games Revenue Lead Joe Lee put the design intent this way: “The collection of optional extras will never affect gameplay, so all you need to focus on is hitting your shots and going B, but then going A.”

Can you still buy Overdrive?
The sources available for this review do not confirm whether Overdrive is currently offered to any particular account or region. Riot’s 2020 guide describes a rotating Store model in which Featured content changed every two weeks and individual Offers every 2–3 days. Those are intervals published in that guide, not verified October 2026 rotation timings. Check the in-game Store for the offers available to your account; an old launch price or report is not proof of a current listing.

Overdrive is most compelling for a player who likes its inspected designs, regularly uses several of the four included weapons, and also wants the blade-style melee or bundle accessories. It is a weaker fit if you mainly want one item, rarely use these weapons, or are buying in expectation of a gameplay edge. The reported launch prices help explain the original offer, but the purchase decision should be based on what is available in your Store and which cosmetics you personally value.
