VALORANT Patch 10.00 went live on January 7, 2025, introducing Colombian Initiator Tejo, FLEX customization, a Competitive map-pool change, and automatic remake voting when a player is AFK in round one. Tejo’s regional rollout was scheduled to begin the following day. The update also marked the start of Season 2025, which Riot said would use six Acts instead of Episodes.
Tejo joins the Initiator roster
Riot introduced Tejo as a new Initiator from Colombia. His release was staggered across regions, beginning January 8, 2025, at 9:00 AM PT. Riot’s English patch notes describe one ability in detail: Special Delivery.
Special Delivery
Equip and fire a sticky grenade. It attaches to the first surface it hits, then explodes and Concusses targets caught in the blast. Alternate fire makes the grenade bounce once. The English notes do not provide the full ability list, so this summary covers only the documented ability.
FLEX adds an equippable cosmetic
Patch 10.00 added FLEX customization in Collections. Every player received the default FLEX, STAT-COM, in their inventory. To equip a FLEX, assign it to the Spray Wheel, which the update renamed the Expressions Wheel. This is an in-game cosmetic feature.

Riot said map rotations would occur every Act, with the next Act’s maps announced when that Act begins. These are the changes and cadence announced in the 10.00 notes, not a description of the current map pool.
Round-one AFKs automatically start a remake vote
If a player is AFK during the first round, a remake vote now starts automatically. A majority of the remaining players must approve it. In Riot’s example, the old requirement was four yes votes from the four remaining players; the new requirement is three of four.

Season 2025 and the VCT25 Esports Hub
Riot described Season 2025 as a year-long season divided into six Acts rather than Episodes. It said ranks would reset at the start of the season and again at a later midseason point.

Gameplay fixes and a reported Expressions Wheel issue
Riot updated explosion-effect logic so explosions from Raze, Sova, and Gekko should deal damage more consistently. The notes specifically mention cases where Raze’s Showstopper failed to damage players after clipping into level geometry.
Other fixes addressed Cypher and Viper utility interacting with geometry and wall penetration; Phoenix’s Blaze visual effects; Brimstone’s Sky Smoke performance and Stim Beacon equip time; observer flash visuals; Regen Shield hit-confirm sounds; and weapons occasionally leaving and re-entering ADS without input.

Riot also documented a known issue in the 10.00 notes: in a custom game with cheats enabled, changing Agents after using the Restart Game cheat could leave the Expressions Wheel blank. The notes said Riot was looking to fix it in coming patches; they do not establish whether the issue remains today.
