VALORANT’s latest patch listed by Riot as of October 8, 2026, is Patch 13.06, published September 22. It adds Agent Mastery, the limited-time Gauntlet: Glitched mode, the Warden rifle, and several competitive and interface changes. Its console announcement expands availability to Australia and New Zealand; it does not announce a new Ranked launch. Riot’s notes also do not explain or confirm the headline claim about animated gun pets.

Riot’s Patch 13.06 notes, published September 22, 2026, describe changes across platform availability, competitive play, progression, game modes, weapons, and the interface. Riot’s updates index lists it as the newest patch as of October 8, 2026.
Console availability
Riot says, “With Patch 13.06, VALORANT Console is now available in Australia and New Zealand!” This is a regional availability expansion. The patch notes do not say that Ranked is newly arriving on console.
Competitive and career changes
The patch introduces Range and Queue, replaces Average Combat Score with Performance Score, and adds Act and career Accolades and Rank Legacy. Riot describes Performance Score as a 0–500 number. The notes also include changes to the Career page.

Agent Mastery
Agent Mastery is progression tracked separately for each Agent. Players earn Mastery Points through supported matches. Act Levels reset at the start of each Act, while Lifetime Levels preserve progression across Acts. Riot says players begin with zero progress for each Agent; earlier playtime does not carry over. Lifetime progression unlocks access to Agent reward tracks, where players spend Kingdom Credits.
Gauntlet: Glitched
Gauntlet: Glitched is a limited-time mode for eight duos. Matches are 2v2, with randomized Agent-ability drafts, upgrades, and four arenas. Players can queue alone or with a friend.

The Warden rifle
The Warden is an automatic rifle in the same 2,900-credit tier as the Vandal and Phantom. Riot lists an 18-round magazine, a 2× scope, and 50 damage per bullet at all ranges.
Home screen and navigation
Riot also redesigned the home and lobby, revised global navigation, and added new-item indicators. Together with the competitive and career adjustments, these changes make the patch broader than a single content drop.

Does Patch 13.06 bring Ranked to console?
No such launch is announced in Riot’s Patch 13.06 notes. The console-specific news in the patch is availability in Australia and New Zealand. That is not evidence that Ranked itself is newly available on console.
What are the animated gun pets?
Patch 13.06 does not mention animated gun pets, and the official material cited here does not establish what the phrase refers to or which update may have added them. Treat that claim as unverified unless a specific Riot announcement confirms it.

Why Riot calls it a major update
Patch author Kenny “Karnifexlol” Cameron called it “our biggest patch of the year—ok, maybe it’s the biggest patch of the last few years. Maybe ever?” The wording is deliberately playful and qualified, not a measured comparison. The substantial mix of interface, competitive, progression, mode, weapon, and regional availability changes explains the update’s scope without confirming the unsupported headline claims.
