Which character should I use?
Choose according to what you want from the run, not only the order above.
- For a powerful late-game run: Pick Queen Sigma if she is unlocked.
- For a base-game high-power option: Consider Red Death or Pugnala Provola.
- For a survival-oriented DLC run: Consider Megalo Menya Moonspell if you own and have unlocked the relevant content.
- For a first run: Use a character already available to you whose starting weapon feels manageable. An endgame character’s ranking says little about how accessible it is on a new save.

Does this ranking include DLC characters?
It includes one DLC pick and labels it explicitly. Legacy of the Bloodmoon is a separate expansion; Nintendo UK and Xbox list its release date as August 28, 2026, with new characters and other content. Nintendo advertises “10+ New Characters.” Separately, poncle’s Emergency Meeting FAQ describes that expansion as featuring nine characters, fifteen weapons, one stage, and twenty in-game unlocks. These are different DLC descriptions, not a count of the entire game’s roster.
Check the store listing for your platform to confirm the expansion is available to you. Owning the base game does not mean you own every expansion, and the character roster can differ with DLC access.

Why isn’t this a complete top ten?
The current evidence identifies a few leading candidates and explains a relevant survival trait, but it does not establish dependable starting weapons, passives, unlock conditions, or DLC status for enough other characters to rank ten accurately. Filling the remaining places would imply a level of verification this ranking cannot support. The list is therefore a transparent shortlist, not a claim that these are the only strong characters.
Players can reasonably order characters differently. Siliconera framed the ranking as a player debate in its August 2024 guide and placed Queen Sigma above its S tier; that older editorial view is context, not a definitive rule. Your save progress, difficulty, preferred build, and goals can all change which character feels best.
