It adds four characters, four weapons with evolutions, a new stage, and Survarots—a mechanic for changing character stats and abilities. The expansion launched on different dates depending on platform: October 28, 2025, on Steam, PlayStation, and mobile, and October 31 on Nintendo Switch and Xbox. The base game is required.
What does Ante Chamber add?
Poncle’s announcement describes a package built around Balatro characters and items, alongside a new stage and a new character-customization mechanic. Nintendo’s publisher-provided listing supplies more detail on the crossover content.
- Four characters: Jimbo, Canio, Chicot, and Perkeo.
- Four weapons: Infernolatro, Gros Michel, Fibonacci Seltzer, and Celestial Booster. The package includes weapon evolutions.
- A new stage: the Ante Chamber, an extradimensional take on Balatro’s interface.
- Survarots: a mechanic for modifying character stats and abilities, which poncle says is available in the base game.
- A music remix: a remix of Balatro’s main theme.
In Nintendo’s description, the stage puts foes on a facsimile of Jimbo’s home turf and features an ally called the Outer Saboteur. The listed character effects include Jimbo boosting Survarot bonuses, Canio providing extra Survarot drafts, Chicot affecting bosses, and Perkeo having a passive pool.
When did it release on each platform?
Poncle’s announcement, dated October 28, 2025, gave this release schedule. Its “today” dates refer to the announcement date.

The Xbox dates differ between poncle’s platform calendar and the Xbox Canada store listing, so treat the date as platform- and storefront-specific. The Nintendo date above is from the UK store listing; regional storefront details may differ.
Is the Balatro expansion free?
Yes. Poncle announced Ante Chamber as a free collaboration. Steam and Xbox also label their listings as free, and both indicate that the Vampire Survivors base game is required. Xbox’s Canada listing says the game is sold separately; Nintendo UK likewise states that Vampire Survivors is required.

Does the mobile release include online play?
Not at the same time as the expansion’s mobile content. In its October 28 announcement, poncle said mobile content was available that day and online play was arriving in November. That release note distinguishes the mobile expansion content from online co-op availability.
