1Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errors2Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minute3Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problemsFor Vendetta: Curse of Raven’s Cry, the right fix depends on where the problem occurs: a Steam serial-key prompt, a quest that will not advance, controls, or a crash/performance issue. Start by recording your platform and exact symptom, then use the relevant steps below. The game was released on Steam on November 20, 2015, and its listed system requirements are legacy specifications—not a guarantee of compatibility with current operating systems.
Start by identifying the problem
Before changing settings or saves, note the details support will need to distinguish a game-specific fault from a platform or installation issue:
- Operating system and version, storefront, and whether the installation offers a separate launch or configuration branch.
- CPU, graphics card and driver version, installed RAM, and available storage.
- The exact error text or the precise point where the game stops responding.
- Game version, what you were doing immediately before the problem, and whether it began after an update.
Steam identifies Reality Pump Studios as the developer and TopWare Interactive and ACE as publishers. Its listing gives separate minimum requirements for Windows, macOS, and SteamOS/Linux. The Windows minimum listed is Windows Vista/7/8/8.1/10, an Intel or AMD dual-core CPU at 2.0 GHz, 4 GB RAM, a GeForce GTX 460 or AMD Radeon HD 5000 series graphics card with 1 GB, DirectX 11, and 18 GB of available storage. These are Steam’s published requirements, not confirmation that the game works on a current OS or every system that meets them. See the Steam listing.
If Steam is waiting for a serial key
A developer-posted workaround may help if your installation has the relevant option. On January 13, 2022, Steam developer Raidor [dph] wrote that “Since November 2021 in some cases the Steam API does not hand over the third party key to the game client.” The proposed workaround was to launch the Launch Configuration Tool, write down the serial key shown by Steam, enter it in that tool, and activate online or by phone.

- HOW TO PLAY: Expand Thunder Road: Vendetta with new environmental hazards and chaotic terrain. Navigate ramps, flames, and dangerous road conditions as you race, ram, and outlast rivals in high-speed combat.
- NEW HAZARDS & TERRAIN: Introduces fire, ramps, and hazardous road tiles that change how vehicles move and interact. Each element adds risk, positioning challenges, and dynamic, unpredictable gameplay to every race.
- FIRE & DAMAGE EFFECTS: Vehicles can catch fire, adding ongoing risk and tension to every turn. Fire effects increase damage pressure and force players to adapt quickly as conditions escalate across the road.
- EXPANDS THE MAYHEM: This fighting board game adds new road setups and environmental interactions that increase player collision, disruption, and unpredictability. Every race evolves differently with expanded terrain combinations and hazard placement.
- EXPANSION CONTENTS: This expansion board game requires the Thunder Road: Vendetta base game and can't be played on its own. Includes hazard tiles, double-sided road boards, hazard tokens, effect cards, and more.
- Check whether your installation offers Launch Configuration Tool.
- Use that option and note the serial key displayed by Steam.
- Enter the key in the configuration tool and follow its activation option, online or by phone.
The developer’s post is specific to this key issue, and replies in the thread report that availability varies by game or platform branch. If the option is absent, the post does not establish an equivalent method for your installation. See the Steam serial-key discussion.
If the Path of the Serpent stones get stuck
A 2017 player report says quicksaving and then quickloading restored the stuck stones for that player, sometimes requiring the sequence more than once. This is an anecdotal workaround, not a confirmed fix for every playthrough.

- Start Your Engines with Quick Character Creation
- Make a separate save first so you can return to your current state.
- When the stones stick, quicksave and then quickload.
- If they remain stuck, the reporting player said they repeated the sequence while progressing.
The game manual documents save, load, quicksave, and quickload controls. Check the player report and the PC manual.
If Kensington’s debt collector is missing
A player report describes a possible Chapter 4 progression softlock after killing Kensington’s debt collector before the related quest. The player did not find a reliable way to restore the needed quest behavior. If you have a save from before the NPC was killed, load it and approach the quest without killing the character early. If you do not have an earlier save, preserve your current save and provide support with the save file and quest state; the available report does not verify a repair or console command.

If controls or input are wrong
Open the in-game control configuration and check whether the affected action is mapped as expected. The manual says controls can be customized or reset to defaults, so restoring defaults is a low-risk check if mappings may have changed. The available sources do not establish a reproducible, game-wide fix for mouse or controller faults. For persistent problems, record the device, connection method, affected controls, and steps that trigger the issue, then contact support.
Rank #4
- A fast-paced set collection game for two to five players.
- Spell the word "MURDER" with your cards to learn how the deadly deed was committed.
- Each letter card has a special ability when played, and Wild Crow cards are wild.
If the game crashes or runs poorly
There is no established, reproducible fix here for generic crashes or poor performance. Compare your system with Steam’s listed requirements, but treat the list as a legacy reference rather than proof of modern compatibility. Record when the failure occurs, any crash text, your system details, and whether it began after an update. Avoid deleting files, editing saves, or applying broad compatibility or driver changes without guidance specific to your operating system and symptom.

Keep the product and patch history straight
An older Steam announcement archive for Raven’s Cry mentions patches addressing crashes and notes that some quest fixes applied only after restarting because quest bugs were stored in older saves. That announcement concerns the earlier Raven’s Cry listing; it does not confirm the same patch behavior for Vendetta: Curse of Raven’s Cry. Do not assume that a general patch note or an old save-related fix applies to your installed product without matching its exact version.
