VGames announced a $141 million second fund on December 13, 2021, to invest in game studios. The announcement described backing studios at different stages, supporting founders as they grow, and continuing the firm’s focus on Israel while reaching teams abroad. It was a 2021 fundraising announcement—not current news.

What VGames announced

Tel Aviv-based VGames said it had raised $141 million for its second fund. GamesBeat reported the announcement and quoted founder and managing partner Eitan Reisel saying the firm was ready to increase investment in Israel and abroad after deploying its first fund. GamesBeat’s December 13, 2021 report also put the new fund in the context of the firm’s earlier $60 million fund.

The stated focus was game studios, with reporting describing investment across different stages and support for founders as they build their companies. PocketGamer.biz quoted VGames principal and game expert Daniel Mironov: “We invest in teams, content and believe in a data-driven approach.” Its report on the fund also quoted Mironov noting that people ask whether the firm invests in mobile, PC, console, or crypto gaming. That comment describes the question he encountered; it does not establish a platform-by-platform investment policy.

What the reported portfolio figures mean

By the time of the announcement, VGames had launched in March 2020 and had invested in 21 companies globally, according to Calcalist CTech’s December 2021 report. The article named 1047, Candivore, SuperPlay, and MPL as examples. The 21-company figure is a count reported at that time, not a current portfolio total.

How the second fund fits VGames’ fundraising history

Fund Announced size Timing and context
First fund $60 million Reported in 2020 by GamesBeat and InvestGame.
Second fund $141 million Announced December 13, 2021, for investment in game studios.
Third fund $142 million Listed in VGames’ official news index as a separate fund announced in December 2024: VGames news.

The $141 million figure belongs to the second fund; it should not be confused with the separate $142 million third fund announced three years later. VGames’ current homepage describes a broader approach that includes capital across a company’s lifecycle and non-dilutive financing, but that current positioning does not establish the second fund’s legal terms or exact allocation.

What the announcement does not establish

The cited reports do not provide the second fund’s term sheet, limited-partner roster, or detailed allocation by geography, platform, or studio stage. They support the broad investment purpose and Israel-plus-international reach, but not specific terms or a complete list of investments made with this fund.
