That was a past offer, not today’s preorder deal: Omni One launched in September 2024, and the current storefront and a later SEC filing give conflicting prices for the complete system. Here’s what the original offer promised, what changed, and what to check before buying.
What Virtuix announced in October 2023
Omni One is a low-friction, omnidirectional platform designed to translate a player’s movement into movement in a VR game. It is not a conventional motorized treadmill. Virtuix described it as the first consumer version of its Omni platform and opened general-public preorders on October 18, 2023. The original announcement is Virtuix’s preorder notice.

Treadmill with Speaker, 6-in-1 7.5MPH Foldable Treadmill for Home with App Compatible, Walking Pad... | $229.99 | Buy on Amazon |
The launch offer was $2,595 plus shipping, or financing advertised as low as $70 per month. Virtuix expected public deliveries to begin in Q2 2024. Orders placed before November 16, 2023, at midnight Pacific were promised one free Omni One game and “Trailblazer” status. Those were terms of the original promotion, not benefits to assume are available with a current order.
What the original preorder included
The 2023 announcement described a bundle of the Omni One treadmill and a Pico VR headset, with access to Virtuix’s software and game ecosystem. The package later shown on Virtuix’s current product page has a broader list of included hardware: the treadmill, customized VR headset, hand controllers, overshoes, foot trackers, and cleaning accessories. How the treadmill works
The player stands on a concave platform wearing special overshoes. Foot-tracking hardware detects movement, while a support structure and harness help keep the player centered. The system maps that movement to in-game locomotion. Virtuix says Omni One supports 360-degree movement, including walking, running, crouching, and jumping; that is the company’s product description, not an independent performance measurement.
Physical movement does not make every VR game compatible. A game needs an appropriate locomotion system and support for the treadmill’s software and platform. Check compatibility title by title rather than treating “VR game” as shorthand for “works with Omni One.”
From the Q2 2024 target to launch
| Date | What happened |
|---|---|
| August 1, 2023 | Virtuix said public preorders would open later in 2023 and public deliveries were planned for Q2 2024. See its release-schedule announcement. |
| October 18, 2023 | General-public preorders opened at $2,595 plus shipping, with the Pico headset in the announced bundle. |
| September 10, 2024 | Virtuix announced the consumer launch and said preorder units were shipping. It reported more than 3,000 preorders and said hundreds of beta units had shipped beforehand. Details are in the launch-date announcement. |
| Launch-period orders | For customers ordering at launch, Virtuix said systems were expected to start shipping in January 2025 because of demand. Its consumer-launch notice gives that estimate. |
| September 2024 | A later SEC disclosure says the preorder phase ended that month. See the company filing. |
The original “opens preorders” headline therefore refers to an October 2023 event. It should not be read as a statement about current order status or delivery timing.
Current editions, prices, and extra costs
Virtuix distinguishes the complete Omni One from Omni One Core. The complete system is presented as a headset-and-treadmill package. Core is aimed at buyers who already have compatible VR equipment; it is not the same all-in-one proposition. Virtuix’s Omni One overview explains the distinction, and its Core product page is the relevant listing for that edition.
There is a material price discrepancy. Virtuix’s current product page displayed $2,995 for the complete system when checked, while a 2026 SEC filing says the price rose from $2,595 to $3,495 plus shipping effective November 2024. The storefront price may change, and the filing and storefront do not agree; use the live checkout total as the purchase authority and confirm the edition before paying. The product listing is at Virtuix’s Omni One page, and the later figure appears in its SEC disclosure.
The same storefront displayed an Omni Online membership for $140, discounted from $168, a PCVR Bluetooth adapter for $49, a three-year warranty upgrade for $295, and individual games priced roughly $19.99 to $44.99. These are storefront observations, not guaranteed future prices. The page lists the membership but does not establish that every online, store, or multiplayer feature requires it, so verify what it covers. Shipping, taxes, financing terms, and availability vary or need confirmation at checkout.
The product page advertises a 30-day refund guarantee measured from delivery, a 12-month home warranty, and a 30-day Omni Online trial; it says refunds are unavailable after 30 days from delivery. It also offers the three-year warranty upgrade for $295, described as available in the United States with no deductible for accidental damage and breakdowns. Read the linked terms of sale for the conditions and confirm regional coverage.

At the September 2024 launch, Virtuix said its dedicated store contained more than 50 titles. The company named Ghostbusters: Rise of the Ghost Lord, Sniper Elite VR, Amid Evil, Doctor Who: The Edge of Time, and Ilysia, as well as its own Elite Force and Dead Zone. Virtuix also said a connection to a VR-capable PC could provide access to thousands of additional titles. Catalog size and compatibility are time-sensitive company claims, not a guarantee that every PCVR title supports Omni One.
Virtuix announced Omni One for Quest on June 23, 2026, describing a plug-and-play treadmill integration for Meta Quest games and fitness apps. This is a later platform expansion, not part of the original Pico-based 2023 offer. See the Quest announcement and check the current compatibility list for the games and hardware you plan to use.
What to consider before buying
- Space and access: Set aside a clear area around the platform and measure the route into the room as well as the storage space. Do not assume a movable system will be easy to relocate or store in every home.
- Fit and setup: Confirm user fit, overshoe size, and the space needed for movement. Expect setup, calibration, and a learning period rather than the effortless feel of a conventional controller.
- Physical demands: Omni One is intended for standing and movement, including bending and crouching. Individual stamina and comfort differ; it is not a normal walking or running sensation.
- PCVR requirements: PCVR use requires a VR-capable computer and may require the optional Bluetooth adapter and software setup. Confirm the requirements for the specific configuration and games.
- Motion comfort: Virtuix presents physical locomotion as a way to reduce the mismatch between visual motion and a stationary body. That may help some players, but it does not guarantee freedom from motion sickness, fatigue, or discomfort.
Alternatives to compare
| Option | What it offers | Price signal and caveat |
|---|---|---|
| Virtuix Omni One Core | Treadmill-focused option for buyers who already own compatible VR hardware and controllers. | Check the current Core listing; no price is stated here because the available information does not establish a dependable current figure. |
| KAT Walk C2 Core | Lower-cost treadmill-only approach for buyers prepared to assemble a headset and software setup separately. KAT VR lists PCVR support; Quest standalone use may need its Nexus adapter. | KAT VR’s page showed a $799 promotional price and $1,497 comparison/list price when checked; promotions can change. See its product page and compatibility/support information. |
| KAT Walk C2 Plus Enhanced | A more feature-heavy treadmill that advertises a sitting module, vehicle modes, haptics, optical tracking, and PCVR or Quest support through an adapter. | Its page showed roughly $1,199–$1,598 depending on variant and promotion; confirm what is included. See the KAT Walk C2 Plus page. |
| Standard VR locomotion | Thumbstick movement, teleportation, room-scale play, or fitness apps avoid a dedicated treadmill. | No treadmill purchase, special footwear, treadmill footprint, or treadmill-specific compatibility layer is needed. |
Who should consider Omni One?
It is most compelling for VR enthusiasts who specifically want physical 360-degree locomotion, have a dedicated play area, and expect to use the equipment often enough to justify a premium peripheral. The complete bundle may also suit someone who values buying the treadmill and VR hardware together. Core is the more relevant Virtuix option for a buyer who already owns compatible equipment.
Casual or mostly seated players, people short on floor space, and anyone seeking broad compatibility without checking individual titles are better served by standard VR controls. A treadmill is also a poor fit if the buyer expects ordinary walking mechanics or a guaranteed motion-sickness remedy.
