If JioFiber disconnects and a YouTube video stops playing in VLC, restoring the internet does not necessarily restart that playback session. The dependable recovery is to verify the connection, stop the failed item, and open the YouTube link again. The available guidance does not establish a reliable VLC setting that automatically reconnects to this exact YouTube stream after an outage.
Reconnect VLC after JioFiber comes back
- Check that the connection is back. Try opening YouTube in its website or app. If possible, check another device too. If YouTube still fails elsewhere, the problem is connection-wide; VLC cannot repair a JioFiber service interruption.
- Stop the failed playback in VLC. Once the connection works again, stop the item that stalled or ended.
- Open the YouTube video again. Reopen the same link in VLC. This is a practical recovery step, not a guarantee that VLC will retry automatically.
YouTube’s general playback troubleshooting advises checking another device or connection and adjusting playback quality when video has problems. That guidance concerns playback in YouTube and does not document recovery of a VLC session.
Why playback may not resume on its own
A network interruption can end a stream session. Restoring the connection does not guarantee that the player or the remote service will recreate that session. A VideoLAN developer-list discussion describes a general RTSP situation in which a client disconnects after receiving no data and a server may close its side too. It is an older example involving RTSP—not evidence about YouTube’s implementation or JioFiber specifically—but it illustrates why an interrupted session may need to be opened again.
Would increasing VLC’s network cache help?
A larger network cache may be worth trying if playback is only choppy during brief instability: buffering can help smooth short interruptions. It does not restore a session that has already ended, so it should not be treated as an automatic-reconnect setting. The cache suggestion available for this scenario comes from a third-party tutorial, not official guidance for JioFiber and YouTube.

Troubleshoot by symptom
YouTube does not work on any device
Check whether JioFiber connectivity has returned and wait or troubleshoot the connection if other services remain unreachable. Changing VLC settings will not fix an outage affecting the connection as a whole.
YouTube works elsewhere, but VLC is still stopped
The earlier VLC playback session may have ended. Stop the item and reopen the video link rather than assuming the player will resume it when internet access returns.

The video stutters but has not stopped
You can experiment with a larger VLC network cache to see whether buffering makes playback smoother. Treat this only as a possible aid for brief instability, not a fix for a complete disconnection.
You need unattended retries
No official, reliable VLC control for automatically restoring this exact YouTube session after a JioFiber outage is established here. A community-reported approach uses Streamlink retry options in a shell loop, but it is not a supported VLC switch or a tested, guaranteed setup for your device. Another community suggestion—repeat-one—concerns online radio and does not establish a solution for YouTube video.
