If Void Crew crashes on PC, match the fix to what is happening: a black screen, a broken main menu, a game-only crash, and a full-system restart can have different causes. Start by checking the game’s requirements, updating your graphics driver, and testing with other applications closed. The remaining steps address specific launch symptoms or help you gather useful information for support; none is a guaranteed fix.
Why does Void Crew keep crashing on PC?
A crash can mean the game closes to desktop, stops responding during loading, hangs on a black screen, or appears to trigger a blue screen or restart. Hutlihut Games’ support guidance recommends checking requirements, updating drivers—especially the GPU driver—and launching with other applications closed. Its other workarounds apply to particular startup problems, not every crash. There is no published crash rate or established success rate for these checks.
1. Check that your PC meets the listed requirements
Steam’s Void Crew listing, accessed in 2026, specifies these requirements:

These are the game’s published targets, not a guarantee that a PC meeting them will run without crashing. If your system falls below a listed minimum, note that when diagnosing the problem rather than assuming a later workaround will compensate for it.

2. Update your graphics driver
Hutlihut’s startup guidance specifically recommends making sure drivers are up to date, particularly the GPU driver. Get the current driver from your graphics-card maker’s official support site. Avoid driver-updater utilities; the developer’s advice does not identify any third-party utility as necessary.
3. Test with other applications closed
Close other running applications, then launch the game and see whether the same crash or hang occurs. Hutlihut recommends this as a way to check whether the issue persists without other applications running; it does not name a particular conflicting program.
If the game works in this test, reopen applications selectively and relaunch between changes. This can help isolate whether something running in the background is involved, without treating any one app as a confirmed cause.

4. Reset settings.json only for the documented menu problem
Hutlihut documents a settings-file workaround for a specific startup symptom: a zoomed or pixelated main menu associated with a settings-loading issue. It is not a general-purpose crash fix.

settings.jsononly if you understand that this removes your game settings. - Relaunch Void Crew. The developer says the game will restore default settings on the next launch.
If the zoomed or pixelated menu issue remains, Hutlihut’s post recommends verifying the game files through Steam.
5. For a black screen at launch, check where the game is installed
Hutlihut has reported some black-screen startup cases when Void Crew was installed on an external drive and recommends installing it on an SSD or HDD, with an SSD preferred. This is an association reported for some cases, not an explanation for every black screen or crash. Check the current install location and drive before considering any hardware change.

Steam’s listing specifies SSD storage. If you are considering moving or installing the game on an internal SSD, first check that your PC supports the drive’s interface and form factor; do not buy a drive on the assumption it will necessarily resolve a crash.
6. Verify the game files in Steam when appropriate
Hutlihut recommends file-integrity verification for the documented zoomed or pixelated menu issue if resetting settings.json does not help. A developer community-manager response also recommends verification for a black-screen startup case. In Steam, open Void Crew in your Library, open its properties, then use the installed-files option to verify integrity of the game files. Labels can vary with Steam’s interface.
File verification checks the installed game files; it is not a repair for hardware, drivers, or every configuration problem. Use it in the symptom contexts for which Hutlihut recommends it rather than assuming it will fix any crash.

7. Separate a game crash from a full-PC restart
If only Void Crew closes, that is different from Windows showing a blue screen or the entire PC restarting. Steam’s guidance on blue- or gray-screen restarts treats system-wide restart errors as a computer problem rather than a problem with Steam, the game, or an application.
For a full-system failure, seek help from your computer manufacturer or a qualified local technician if needed. Do not make risky hardware or firmware changes based solely on a game crash.

Hutlihut asks players reporting technical issues to provide the game log and a Windows DxDiag report. The log file, Player.log, is located at C:Users[USER]AppDataLocalLowHutlihut Games ApSVoid Crew. Its Void Crew FAQ lists Steam discussions, the official Discord, and the Focus Support Center as help or reporting routes.

When you contact support, include what the failure looks like, when it happens, and any recent changes to your PC or game setup. Those details can help distinguish a loading hang from a menu problem or system restart. Hutlihut’s startup troubleshooting guidance also requests the Player.log for technical issues.

What the documented checks do not establish
Hutlihut’s Steam announcements list a narrow issue dated December 18, 2025: certain achievements might reset if a crash occurs in the same session. That announcement does not establish the cause of unrelated crashes. None of the published guidance identifies one universal cause, ranks these checks by success rate, or promises that a particular step will resolve every case.
