Their use effect grants immunity to Fear for 15 seconds, with a 10-minute cooldown. Crafting them requires Engineering 250 and access to the Phase 3 crafted-gear questline.
What are Void-Powered Slayer’s Vambraces?
These are item-level-55 leather wrist armor requiring character level 50 and Engineering 250. The item is bind-on-pickup and has 75 armor, +9 Strength, +18 Agility and +5 Stamina. Its equip text says it provides protection against certain types of psychic attacks, but the item reference does not define that wording further. Warcraft Wiki’s item reference lists the item as added in Patch 1.15.2 on April 2, 2024.
How do you get the recipe?
Complete the Waking the Nightmare questline, then speak with the Shadowy Figure in Moonglade to learn the recipe. The Wowhead Engineering guide places the recipe among the Sunken Temple crafted gear and lists Engineering thresholds of 250, 255 and 260. Wowhead’s Engineering guide was updated April 7, 2025 and is labeled Patch 1.15.8.
What materials do you need?
The recipe calls for:
- 10 Nightmare Seeds
- 1 Inert Mantle of Nightmares
- 1 Void-Powered Vambraces
- 3 Dense Blasting Powder
- 2 Star Rubies
The ingredient list appears in both the item reference and the Engineering guide.

Does the item make you immune to Fear?
Yes. Using the vambraces grants Fear immunity for 15 seconds. The effect has a 10-minute cooldown, so it is a timed defensive ability rather than continuous protection. The item reference does not specify additional details about which sources of Fear it affects.
Are they worth crafting for a Rogue?
In Wowhead’s Phase 3 Rogue DPS guide, Void-Powered Slayer’s Vambraces are the recommended wrist option for Engineers. The guide names Forest Stalker’s Bracers as the best non-Engineer choice, one Agility point behind. That is a Phase 3 Rogue comparison, not a universal ranking for other classes, phases or later updates. See Wowhead’s Phase 3 Rogue DPS guide.

For an Engineer Rogue, the item combines that guide’s wrist-slot recommendation with a short Fear-immunity effect. Getting it means completing the questline and gathering the listed components; players without Engineering should compare the non-Engineer option for the relevant phase.
