Voldex announced a $3 million funding round on February 2, 2022, led by Dune Ventures, with Makers Fund, POW! Interactive, and other investors participating. The company said it would use the funding to expand its game roster and improve its existing library. This was a 2022 announcement—not the separate Series A Voldex announced in January 2023.
What Voldex said the $3 million would fund
In its February 2, 2022 coverage, GamesBeat reported that Voldex planned to add games to its roster and improve titles it already operated. The announcement did not specify how much of the round would go to either goal, name individual investment amounts, or give a project-by-project spending plan.
At the time, GamesBeat listed Pet Zoo, Encounters, Base Battles, and Cursed Islands among Voldex’s Roblox games. That list describes the portfolio reported in 2022; it should not be read as a current catalog.
Who invested
Dune Ventures led the round. Makers Fund and POW! Interactive were among the other named participants, along with additional investors. The available announcement coverage does not establish a complete investor list or disclose each participant’s contribution.

GamesBeat quoted Dune Ventures partner David Brillembourg Jr. saying the firm believed Voldex was well positioned to scale into a large UGC gaming content network. Voldex CEO Alexandre Singer, in turn, argued that people with long experience in user-generated-content gaming were likely to disrupt the space. These were the investors’ and company leader’s views at the time, not confirmed outcomes.
How the 2022 round differs from Voldex’s later Series A
On January 24, 2023, Andreessen Horowitz announced a separate Series A investment in Voldex. Its announcement described Voldex as a studio that acquires, improves, and builds games on user-generated-content platforms including Roblox and Minecraft; it said the Series A would support further large game acquisitions and team expansion. Andreessen Horowitz’s announcement does not state the round’s amount, so it should not be conflated with the $3 million disclosed in 2022.

What Voldex says about its strategy today
Voldex’s current About page describes its focus as selectively acquiring and growing enduring Roblox experiences. That current positioning is consistent with a business built around improving and expanding games, but it does not establish that every plan described in 2022 was completed.
The company also currently invites brands to pursue in-game integrations through its brand partnerships page. This is a present-day business offering, not evidence about the use of the 2022 investment or its results.
