Volcano Princess is a single-player life simulation in which you act as guardian to a princess and shape her future through her daily activities, hobbies, studies, relationships and battle training. It launched on Steam on April 20, 2023, and the developer and publisher, Egg Hatcher, has since listed additional platforms on its official website. The sections below cover what the game asks you to do, which platforms are confirmed and where, what the PC version requires, and what is and is not established about endings and guides.
What you actually do in Volcano Princess
The game is built around a planning loop. You decide how the daughter spends her time, and each choice builds a skill, a relationship or a step toward the life she will lead. The Steam description frames the premise as preparing the next monarch by finding her hobbies, training her for battle and befriending the citizens she will one day protect. The store page asks players directly how they will raise her and what kind of person she will become.
The setting is medieval fantasy, and the player is the daughter’s guardian rather than the princess herself. Steam’s description lists exploring hobbies, studying, interacting with characters, martial arts and combat as the core activities. The official website adds swords, spells, alchemy and monster attacks to the setting.
Planning the daughter’s time
Each stretch of time is spent on something: a hobby, study, a conversation with a character, or training. Because time is finite, the value of the game comes from trade-offs. Training her in one area usually means not spending that time elsewhere, which is the mechanism behind the “choices matter” framing that community tags emphasise.

Relationships and alliances
The game includes relationship development with characters, college choices, noble alliances and an end-stage competition. Individual decisions feed into these threads, so the same daughter can end up with very different social standing depending on earlier choices.
Combat and battle training
Combat is part of the progression rather than a separate mode. Steam’s community tags describe it as turn-based. Battle training develops the daughter’s ability to protect the citizens she will eventually rule, so it sits inside the same planning loop as hobbies and studies.

How the game is classified
Steam labels Volcano Princess Casual, Indie, RPG, Simulation and Strategy. Its user-applied tags include Life Sim, Multiple Endings, Choices Matter, Dating Sim and Turn-Based Combat. Store tags are assigned by the community and are useful for search, but they are not official genre commitments from the developer.
Where you can play it
Platform status has changed over time, so the table separates the confirmed status from the date and region each claim applies to.

The official website gives July 30, 2026 as the Japan sale date and lists a price of 1,300 yen. That date is for Japan specifically. The sources reviewed do not establish a worldwide release date for the console or mobile versions, and they do not say whether any of those versions has launched outside the regions noted above. If you are buying for a console or phone, check the publisher’s current announcements for your territory before you purchase.
Price
When the Steam listing was checked, it showed $10.99 in US dollars. Steam prices vary by region and change over time, so treat that figure as a snapshot for the storefront at the time of checking. The 1,300 yen price on the official website applies to the Japanese listing only and is not a universal price for the game.

PC requirements and Steam features
The Steam page lists the following Windows requirements:
- Windows 10 version 1607 or later
- 8 GB RAM
- DirectX 11
- 5 GB of available storage
The Steam listing identifies the game as single-player. It lists 234 achievements, Steam Cloud save support, Trading Cards and Family Sharing. Achievements and Cloud are Steam-specific features, so they will not carry over to other storefronts or consoles.

Language support
The official website lists English, Simplified Chinese, Traditional Chinese, Korean and Japanese. The Steam listing shows English, Simplified Chinese, Japanese and Korean for the interface and subtitles. Because the two sources differ, check the language list on the specific storefront you plan to buy from, and treat the Steam list as the one that applies to the PC version.
Endings and guides
The official website advertises more than 50 endings. The page does not show a publication date, so the figure reflects the publisher’s own description rather than a dated count. The sources reviewed do not document the stat thresholds or step-by-step routes needed to reach particular endings. Steam’s support pages link to community guides covering endings, achievements and early-game play. If you need route instructions, check a current community guide and confirm which game version it describes, since the systems that determine endings may change between versions.
