Pocket Gamer’s September 4, 2026 ranking is the newest dated broad tier list located: it places 17 styles in S tier, including Shiro, Rocketto, and Taichou. These are editorial judgments, not an official developer ranking or a controlled performance test. The best choice for you depends on your role, preferred mechanics, and whether the style is currently available.
Volleyball Legends tier list: Pocket Gamer’s September 4, 2026 snapshot
Pocket Gamer says its September 4, 2026 update added Shiro and Rocketto. Its S tier includes the following styles, presented here in alphabetical order rather than as a ranking within the tier:
- Akari (Ninja)
- Bokuto
- Hirakumi
- Kyamo (Kageyomo)
- Oigawa
- Rocketto
- Sanu
- Shiro
- Shield Breaker
- Taichou
- The Twins (Atasumi)
- The Twins (Osuma)
- Timeskip Hinoto
- Timeskip Kagayomo
- Timeskip Kyamo
- Timeskip Oigawa
- Uchishima
Pocket Gamer’s reviewed page is paginated. Its visible A-tier excerpt names Kuzee, Kuze, and Yabu, but that is not a complete A-tier list, so those entries should not be treated as the whole tier. See Pocket Gamer’s tier list.
Why tier lists disagree
There is no official developer tier list established by the reviewed sources. Different publishers and community contributors use different snapshots and judgments, so their lists should not be combined into a single consensus ranking.

#1 Best Overall
- Fast-Paced Volleyball Matches
- Unlock Legendary Players
- Multiple Game Modes
For example, the community-maintained Volleyball Legends Wiki labels its ranking a July 27, 2026 Update 80 snapshot. In its shown entries, it places Hidari, Encho, Twins, Kijo, Jinko, Ronin, Kisuki, Sanju, Taichou, Timeskip Kyamo, Timeskip Okazu, and Akari in S tier. The Wiki explicitly describes its rankings as community opinion rather than developer data. View the Wiki tier list.
Claude Gaming’s page has an October 2026 headline, but states “Last checked August 17, 2026.” It puts Ronin, Hidari, Jinko, Timeskip Hinto, and Timeskip Kyamo in S tier, based on its own assessment of stats and competitive performance. That earlier check date means the headline does not establish an October snapshot. View Claude Gaming’s ranking.

How to choose a style for your role
Use the overall tier as a shortlist, then compare the style with how you play. The Wiki offers role-specific views for spikers, setters, liberos, and blockers; its descriptions are community reference, not independently verified testing. Check the Wiki’s role views and mechanics descriptions.
- Spiker: Focus on the attacking role and mechanics you can use consistently, rather than choosing only by overall placement.
- Setter: Look for mechanics that support the kind of sets you want to make. The Wiki, for example, describes Timeskip Kyamo as a setter with Super Set float control.
- Blocker: Consider whether the style fits the timing and defensive play you prefer; Pocket Gamer notes that styles can excel in different traits, including jumping and serving.
- Libero or all-rounder: Compare role fit and useful mechanics for your preferred play. A top overall tier does not by itself show that a style is right for every position or player.
The Wiki describes Ronin as a power hitter, another example of why a mechanic or role description can matter more to an individual player than a broad tier. Treat these descriptions as community guidance, not measured results.

Check availability before planning around a style
A style’s tier placement does not guarantee that it can be obtained when you read the list. The Wiki advises checking documented return history for limited or event-linked styles rather than assuming an unannounced banner will return. The sources do not establish the exact style pool or availability after September 4, 2026, so confirm in-game availability before building a plan around a specific style.
Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone. What this tier list can—and cannot—tell you
Pocket Gamer’s list is useful as a dated editorial overview, but it is not an official ranking, a promise of results, or proof that every S-tier style outperforms every lower-tier option in every role. Pocket Gamer itself encourages players to account for the traits and activities they enjoy, such as serving or jumping. Use the list to identify candidates, then prioritize role fit, mechanics, access, and your own proficiency.
Because the sources reviewed do not establish whether styles released, rebalanced, or made available after September 4 changed the broader ranking, this list should be read as a September 4 snapshot—not a verified October 2026 meta.
