The available Update 80 tier references are community opinions last updated July 27, 2026—not official developer rankings or a verified live October 2026 meta.
What does the Volleyball Legends tier list actually tell you?
The Volleyball Legends Wiki styles page identifies its Update 80 material as an unofficial, community-maintained snapshot and dates its last update to July 27, 2026. The VBL Wiki tier list likewise describes its Update 80 ranking as community opinion. Neither source establishes an official developer ranking or confirms that its ordering reflects the live October 2026 game.
Use the tier letters as a starting point for comparisons, not as a verdict on what you should equip. The styles listed for each role are candidates to consider, not a definitive ordered ranking. Role fit, the mechanic you can use reliably, and current availability matter more than chasing one overall “best” label.
Which style should you compare for your role?
The VBL Wiki’s Update 80 snapshot groups possible styles by the job they may support. Its guidance is qualitative; it does not establish that every style in a group performs equally well or provide a current order among them.

| Role | Styles to compare | What to consider |
|---|---|---|
| Spiking | Kijo, Sanju, Hidari, Kazana, Jinko, Bakuri, Uchikai, Azmei | Power, tilt control, jump height, and how long the style mechanic takes to activate. |
| Setting | Taichou, Kumo, Kyamo, Okazu, Timeskip Kyamo | Set consistency and coordination with your teammates. |
| Receiving | Kumo, Kisuki, Sazuroku, Yokai, Yomomute | Early positioning, bump control, dive reach, and the quality of the next touch. |
| Blocking | Mikage, Encho | Reading the approach and aligning your jump; a high block value alone cannot make up for poor timing or alignment. |
These role pools and comparison factors come from the VBL Wiki’s Update 80 community snapshot, not a developer-issued ranking.
How should you choose a style for spiking?
Compare Kijo, Sanju, Hidari, Kazana, Jinko, Bakuri, Uchikai, and Azmei by the attack you can execute consistently. Raw power is only one consideration: tilt control affects how you direct a hit, jump height can shape your approach, and an ability that takes time to activate may not suit every rally or play pattern. A style that looks strong on a tier list may be a poor fit if its mechanic does not match your timing.

How should you choose a style for setting?
Compare Taichou, Kumo, Kyamo, Okazu, and Timeskip Kyamo with your team’s coordination in mind. The community snapshot emphasizes consistent sets and communication with teammates. Fan-wiki guidance describes setters as a support role that creates attack opportunities through sets and relies on court awareness and coordination; it is role context, not an official developer instruction. See the fan-maintained positions reference.
How should you choose a style for receiving?
Compare Kumo, Kisuki, Sazuroku, Yokai, and Yomomute around what happens before and after the first touch. Early positioning, control of a bump, and dive reach affect whether you can keep a ball alive; the resulting quality of that touch affects what your team can do next. Consider which of those parts of reception your play most needs to improve rather than selecting by tier letter alone.
Rank #3
How should you choose a style for blocking?
Compare Mikage and Encho by how well you can read an attacker’s approach and line up your jump. The snapshot cautions that a high block attribute does not solve mistimed jumps or poor alignment. Blocking value therefore depends on both the style and your ability to anticipate the attack.

A community style-system explainer says styles affect attributes such as serve power, blocking, setting, jump height, and spike power, and recommends choosing for a role instead of pursuing a universal best style. Treat that as a community explanation rather than an official specification; the available material does not establish a complete current attribute table for every style. The styles reference also does not make the July 27 snapshot a guarantee of current availability. Check what is obtainable in your game before spending spins on a style mentioned in an older community list.

A practical way to make the choice
- Identify your job. Decide whether you mainly spike, set, receive, or block.
- Shortlist styles for that role. Use the relevant candidates above as a comparison pool, not a promise that one is best for everyone.
- Choose the mechanics that matter to you. For example, a spiker can weigh power against control and activation time; a receiver can focus on positioning, reach, and the next touch.
- Factor in your team. Set consistency and coordination matter for setters, while coverage and role balance can shape what the rest of the team needs.
- Check current availability in-game. The cited tier snapshot is dated July 27, 2026, so do not assume a listed style is currently obtainable before using spins.
