Highlights included new games Forefront, Reave and Ghost Town, a PS VR2 release date for Hitman: World of Assassination, and five projects from Flat2VR Studios. What was the Spring 2025 VR Games Showcase?
The organizers described the presentation as a 35-minute show featuring 22 announcements from 15 studios. It focused on VR games across Quest, PS VR2 and PC VR, along with mixed-reality experiences. The event took place on March 11, 2025; the official announcement roundup is the source for the complete list below.
The showcase is one edition in an ongoing event series. Its “is back” framing belongs to March 2025: the organizers’ event archive includes later showcases, so this recap should not be read as news of a 2026 return.
The biggest new game reveals
Forefront — new game reveal
Triangle Factory, the studio behind Breachers and Hyper Dash, revealed Forefront, a large-scale multiplayer military shooter. The developer described battles for up to 32 players, four roles—Assault, Engineer, Medic and Sniper—and land, sea and air vehicles including helicopters, Humvees, tanks and boats. Those are details from the developer announcement. Early access was a 2025 target, not a confirmed launch date, and playtests were planned; the showcase did not establish a final release date.

Reave — new game reveal
Reave was introduced as a cooperative dark-fantasy extraction game for Meta Quest and PC VR. The showcase announcement established the genre and platforms, but did not give a release date.
Ghost Town — gameplay trailer
Fireproof Games, known for The Room series, showed gameplay from Ghost Town, described as the studio’s first new intellectual property in more than a decade. Set in London in 1983, it follows paranormal investigator Edith Penrose as she searches for her missing brother. Ghost hunting, environmental exploration, tactile puzzles and supernatural abilities feature in the game. The announced schedule was Quest in April 2025, followed by SteamVR and PS VR2 later in 2025; those were planned windows at the time, not confirmation here of actual platform launch dates. Memoreum — new trailer and release window
Patient 8 Games presented a trailer for Memoreum, a sci-fi action-horror campaign set aboard the UCT Century Dawn in 2311. The team had previously made the Return to Rapture Half-Life: Alyx mod. The showcase gave a September 2025 release window for Meta Quest, rather than a specific day. See the release-window announcement.
Zix — new gameplay
Zix appeared as a cooperative roguelite for Quest and SteamVR, with a fall 2025 target. The showcase presented gameplay, but a seasonal target is not a firm date.

Gorn 2 — new gameplay trailer
The sequel to the violent VR gladiator game received a gameplay trailer. Quest, PS VR2 and SteamVR were the announced platforms; the showcase did not specify a release date. Its combat is aimed at players comfortable with graphic violence.
Slender: The Arrival VR — platform announcement
A trailer announced a VR adaptation of the horror game for Quest, PS VR2 and PC VR. The showcase did not give a release date. The horror focus makes it a different kind of proposition from the event’s shooters and puzzle adventures.
Ports, platform announcements and adaptations
Hitman: World of Assassination — PS VR2 release date
A new gameplay trailer showed the PS VR2 version, with release announced for March 27, 2025. The campaign scope was described as 20 locations, with VR interactions including picking locks, operating generators and physically taking down multiple guards. This was a PS VR2 announcement, not a simultaneous Quest or PC VR announcement. The official update has the gameplay and release details.
Underdogs — PS VR2 release dates
The showcase announced a March 28, 2025 digital release on PS VR2 and an April 4, 2025 physical release. These are the dates in the official event recap; they should not be conflated with other dates that may appear in secondary coverage.

Vendetta Forever — PC VR version and new levels
A PC VR version was scheduled for May 8, 2025, with new levels planned for its launch. The announcement said that content would later come to Quest and PS VR2 in a free update. The source is the event’s March 2025 announcement page.
Flat2VR Studios’ five-project lineup
Flat2VR Studios used the showcase to reveal or update five adaptations and VR projects, covering several genres and source games. The lineup was announced by the studio as follows:
- Shadowgate VR: The Mines of Mythrok — PS VR2 confirmation.
- Roboquest VR — a new trailer for the VR adaptation; no release timing was fully specified.
- Out of Sight VR — VR adaptation announcement.
- Surviving Mars: Pioneer — a new VR game revealed with Paradox, Bolverk Games and Flat2VR Studios.
- Postal 2 VR — surprise VR adaptation announcement.
Updates, playtests and a surprise launch
Prison Boss: Prohibition — mixed-reality mode
The game received a mixed-reality mode announcement, with Quest testing and update information discussed at the showcase. The event recap did not supply a more precise release date.
Breachers — content update
The Clone Projector gadget was announced as an update available immediately at the time of the March 2025 show.

Deep Cuts — surprise launch
Deep Cuts, developed by the team associated with Scythe and published by tinyBuild, surprise-launched on Meta Quest during the presentation. The event listed a price of $29.99 in its March 2025 announcement context; that is not a verified current price. The official recap records the launch and listed price.
Stay: Forever Home — systems showcase
The pet-simulation game received a deeper look at its systems and mixed-reality features. Quest was the announced platform, with April 2025 presented as the timing.
Exoshock — new footage and playtest information
The cooperative shooter received new footage, alongside closed early-access or playtest information. The showcase did not establish a public release date.
Other new announcements
Penguin Festival
The game was announced, but the event’s complete roundup did not establish a platform or release window clearly enough to state either as confirmed.

Which headset owners had the most to track?
Meta Quest
Quest owners had the broadest cluster of listed announcements: Ghost Town, Memoreum, Reave, Zix, Gorn 2 and Slender: The Arrival VR, plus the Prison Boss: Prohibition mixed-reality update, Breachers gadget update, Stay: Forever Home, and Deep Cuts launch. Penguin Festival and Titan Isles were announced, but their platforms were not established in the event information summarized here.
PlayStation VR2
PS VR2’s clearest date-driven news was Hitman: World of Assassination and Underdogs. The event also listed Ghost Town, Slender: The Arrival VR, Gorn 2 and Shadowgate VR: The Mines of Mythrok, plus later Vendetta Forever content. Several of those did not have firm dates at the showcase.

PC VR owners had Forefront, Reave, Zix, Vendetta Forever, Ghost Town, Gorn 2 and Slender: The Arrival VR among the announcements. Roboquest VR, Out of Sight VR and Exoshock were also part of the show, but the roundup did not give a standardized platform confirmation for every title; do not treat an unstated platform as confirmed.
