As of October 6, 2026, deal coverage reported Walmart selling the MSI Codex Z2C B8NVM-674US for $999. That puts this RTX 5060 Ti prebuilt below $1,000, but the price and stock were described as promotional and limited; verify the Walmart listing before buying. I haven’t found evidence to establish that it is objectively the first such PC under $1,000 in months, so that distinction is best treated as an observation, not a market-wide record.
What the reported $999 configuration includes

Is it a decent deal?
At the reported $999 price, it is a plausible option for someone who wants a complete gaming desktop built around an RTX 5060 Ti, rather than assembling parts separately. Whether it is a good buy for you depends on the whole system and your intended games and display—not on the GPU name alone.

#1 Best Overall
- Powered by the NVIDIA Blackwell architecture and DLSS 4
- SFF-Ready Enthusiast GeForce Card
- TORX Fan 5.0: Fan blades linked by ring arcs work to stabilize and maintain high-pressure airflow
- Nickel-plated Copper Baseplate: Heat from the GPU and memory is swiftly captured by a nickel-plated copper baseplate and transferred
- Core Pipes feature a square design to maximize contact with the GPU baseplate for optimal thermal management
- Check the GPU memory: This configuration has the 8GB RTX 5060 Ti, not the 16GB model. NVIDIA’s 2025 launch announcement listed launch prices of $379 for the 8GB card and $429 for the 16GB card; those are historical GPU launch prices, not today’s street prices or a valuation of this complete desktop. NVIDIA’s announcement also describes RTX 5060-family support for DLSS 4, ray tracing, neural rendering and Reflex.
- Consider the intended resolution: Tom’s Hardware describes the PC as aimed primarily at 1080p gaming, with 1440p possible if you set reasonable image-quality expectations. The coverage does not publish controlled benchmarks or frame rates for this exact configuration, so treat that as a general positioning rather than a performance guarantee.
- Compare the other parts: Account for the Ryzen 7 8700F, 16GB of RAM, 1TB SSD, motherboard and 650W power supply when comparing another prebuilt. A similarly named GPU does not make two full desktops equivalent.
- Think about future upgrades: The reported AM5 motherboard and standard components offer a potential upgrade path, but the available coverage does not establish how this PC performs against every competing system or what upgrades will make financial sense later.
What “first in months” does—and doesn’t—mean
The $999 offer was reported by Slickdeals and Tom’s Hardware on October 6, 2026. The available Walmart category results show other RTX 5060 Ti systems, but they do not provide a historical price series. That means the evidence supports describing this as a sub-$1,000 offer spotted by the writer; it does not prove that no comparable prebuilt appeared at that price in the preceding months.
