Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2 offers Quality and Performance modes on PS5 and Xbox Series X, but Xbox Series S has only Quality Mode. Campaign and PvE support crossplay between PC and consoles; Eternal War PvP separates PC and console players. Cross-platform saves use PROS, with an online requirement for Operations progress to carry into a later session.
Console performance modes and targets
Saber Interactive and Focus Entertainment publish resolution and frame-rate targets for each console. They are specifications, not independent gameplay measurements: “up to 60 FPS” is not a guarantee of a locked frame rate.

The standard PS5 and Xbox figures are listed in the Saber support FAQ and Focus Entertainment’s FAQ. Focus’s FAQ page, originally posted July 9, 2024, now also includes the separate PS5 Pro figures above. PSSR is Sony’s upscaling technology; the listed range and output are publisher specifications, not benchmark results.
How crossplay works
Crossplay depends on the game mode. The official FAQs list Campaign and PvE as crossplay-enabled across Steam, Epic Games Store, PS5, and Xbox Series X|S. Eternal War PvP uses separate pools: Steam and Epic players play together, while PS5 and Xbox players play together. The FAQs also say crossplay can be disabled.

These rules are stated in the Saber FAQ and Focus FAQ. Crossplay support therefore does not mean every platform shares one PvP matchmaking pool.
Cross-save, PROS, and offline progress
For cross-platform saves, Focus identifies Prism Ray Online Services (PROS) as the route for linking progression across platforms. That feature does not make every kind of progress persist offline: Campaign progress saves while offline, but Operations PvE progress requires an online connection to carry over into the next session. Consult the Focus FAQ or Saber FAQ for the official save and connectivity guidance.

In a September 18, 2024 community Q&A, Focus acknowledged player reports at that time of connectivity problems, lost saves, and trouble joining friends. That is historical context, not evidence about how frequently such issues occur now; official cross-save support should not be read as a guarantee of uninterrupted service.

The game launched September 9, 2024, for PS5, Xbox Series X|S, Steam, and Epic Games Store, as described in Focus’s release-date announcement and launch announcement. Focus said the PS5 and Xbox Series X copies included with the Collector’s Edition were physical copies in its Collector’s Edition announcement. That statement does not establish that every edition is physical or confirm current retailer inventory; check the specific listing for format and availability.
