Spoiler warning: this article covers the campaign finale.
The final campaign boss is Imurah. In the ending, Titus, Gadriel, Chairon and Marneus Calgar stop Imurah’s corrupted use of Project Aurora, and Titus survives. The epilogue reveals that Chaplain Quintus is Leandros, Titus’s former squadmate from the first Space Marine, whose report helped bring about Titus’s earlier separation from the Ultramarines. Calgar then sends Titus on another assignment, but the final scene does not spell out what that assignment is.
How the finale plays out
The story guide describes the finale in five beats:
- Project Aurora is introduced as a shared Imperial and Adeptus Mechanicus plan. It is tied to an artifact and an ancient pylon system on Demerium. The project is presented as a possible answer to an existential wartime problem, but its power is poorly understood.
- Imurah turns the project toward Chaos. He exploits that gap in understanding and redirects Aurora toward a Chaos objective.
- Leuze activates Aurora, and Imurah kills him. Imurah reveals the trap at this point, so the activation becomes the moment the threat goes live.
- The Ultramarines fight through the crisis. Calgar arrives with reinforcements, and Titus and Calgar confront Imurah together.
- Titus destroys the key source of Imurah’s power. Titus survives, and the immediate plan is stopped.
What the ending settles and what it leaves alone
The story guide is specific about the immediate outcome: Imurah’s plan is stopped and the source of his power is destroyed. It is not a claim that Chaos is defeated more broadly, and it does not say that every consequence of the device is resolved. The same account also notes that the game does not explain Aurora’s technical workings in plain terms. The safest reading is that the Demerium crisis ends, while the wider Aurora question stays open.

What Calgar’s arrival does and does not resolve
Calgar’s arrival places the Chapter Master visibly beside Titus. According to the story guide, that is meant to signal trust earned through the campaign. It is not a public clearing of Titus. The Imperium does not formally absolve him of every suspicion in the final scene, so the ending reads as recognition rather than full reconciliation.
Chaplain Quintus is Leandros
The epilogue’s central reveal is that Chaplain Quintus is Leandros, the squadmate from the first game. The story guide says Leandros reported Titus to the Inquisition after Titus resisted Chaos influence on Graia.

- Purge the relentless Tyranid swarms as legendary Space Marine Titus in a spectacular new campaign
Warhammer Community’s official history of Titus independently describes the same Graia events, Thrax taking Titus away, and Titus’s later Deathwatch service before he returned to the Ultramarines. That history supports the wound the reveal reopens. It does not make Leandros the final Chaos villain; the threat in the finale is Imurah and Aurora.
Focus Entertainment’s official FAQ says the game is understandable on its own: “Not at all! While there are returning characters, it’s a fresh story that can be understood as its own without having played the first game.” The Leandros reveal still refers back to events from the first game, so the scene carries more weight for players who know Titus’s earlier story.

What the ending leaves open
Calgar asks Titus to join another assignment, and Leandros goes along. The final scene does not fully specify the mission or its objective, so any explanation of what Titus is sent to do goes beyond what the game shows. Later Warhammer tabletop narrative is separate material and should not be read back into the game’s last scene.
