Crashes, No Sound, or Screen Glitches?
Random freezes, missing sound and display glitches usually trace back to one bad driver. Find and replace yours safely.Free scan · under a minuteWindows Errors? Fix Them Before They Spread
Repair common Windows errors and clear accumulated junk for a smoother, more stable PC - no reinstall needed.Free scan · no reinstallWarota: I Live Next to The Demon King’s Castle LOL is not yet released on Steam. The store listing marks it as coming soon for 2026, and Steam currently says, “This game is not yet available on Steam.” If you are testing a demo or open-beta build, a crash, launch error, freeze, or black screen may reflect that build or an unvalidated PC configuration rather than a confirmed defect in the final game.
Start with the checks that can be verified now: compare your PC with the published minimum requirements, update Windows and your graphics driver, verify the Steam files, and disable non-essential background software and overlays. Then use the symptom-specific checks below. If the problem persists, report the exact build, error text, Windows version, GPU and driver version through Warota’s Steam Discussions, official social channels, or its feedback form.

What Warota’s current release status means for troubleshooting
The Steam listing for Warota: I Live Next to The Demon King’s Castle LOL identifies the game as planned for 2026 and not yet available in its full Steam release. That status changes how a launch problem should be interpreted. A PC that starts a demo or beta is not necessarily running the same executable, settings, or content that will ship. Conversely, a computer that meets the listed minimum may still encounter a problem in a test build.
Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problems2Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitches3Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errorsSteam’s Warota Community information records an open beta held from August 31 through September 7, 2026. The beta notes document a problem with Continue: previous save data could fail to load and the game would start over. Beta 0.2.0 notes also record fixes for keyboard-and-mouse controls and cursor clipping. Those notes do not confirm a game-wide crash-at-launch or black-screen bug. Treat those symptoms as user-reported or undiagnosed until a later developer announcement identifies a specific Warota issue.

Identify the build before changing anything
- Write down whether you are using an open-beta build, a demo, or another test distribution.
- Record the date and time of the failure and whether it happened on the first launch or after the game had previously worked.
- Note whether the symptom is a crash to desktop, an error dialog, a window that remains frozen, or a black display with sound still playing.
- Do not assume that a beta save problem is a graphics or launch problem. The documented Continue issue concerns loading previous save data.
Check the official minimum PC requirements
Steam publishes the following minimum configuration for Warota. These are the only game-specific hardware requirements currently stated in the listing; no recommended CPU, memory, or graphics card is published there.
| Component | Published minimum | What a mismatch can mean |
|---|---|---|
| Operating system | Windows 10 or Windows 11, 64-bit | A 32-bit Windows installation or an older unsupported version can prevent launch or cause rendering failures. |
| CPU | Intel Core i5-9400 | A processor below this level may fail to meet the build’s startup or runtime expectations. |
| Memory | 8 GB RAM | Less memory leaves less room for the game and Windows, increasing the chance of launch failure or severe swapping. |
| GPU | NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1050 Ti with 4 GB VRAM | This is the most specific graphics floor in the listing. A lower or lower-memory GPU may not render the game correctly. |
| Graphics API | DirectX 11 | A missing, damaged, or misconfigured DirectX environment can present as a launch error or a black screen. |
Meeting these specifications is a baseline, not a guarantee. The listing does not publish a recommended configuration, a supported driver list, or a performance target. If your PC is below the GTX 1050 Ti 4 GB, 8 GB RAM, 64-bit Windows, or DirectX 11 requirements, fix that mismatch before treating the symptom as a Warota-specific bug. If you are considering a GTX 1050 Ti 4GB graphics card as an upgrade, recheck the final requirements when the game launches because the current listing is for an unreleased title.
How to check your PC quickly
- Press
Windows+R, enterdxdiag, and press Enter. The System tab shows your Windows edition, architecture, processor, and memory; the Display tab shows the GPU and DirectX information. - In Windows Settings, open System → About and confirm that the system type is 64-bit.
- In Task Manager → Performance, check installed memory and the active GPU. Compare the dedicated video memory with the required 4 GB.
- If your computer has more than one GPU, note which one Steam and Windows are assigning to the game. A laptop may start the game on an integrated adapter instead of the discrete GPU.
Use this order for a Warota launch failure
The sequence below follows the least destructive and most broadly useful checks first. Test Warota after each major change so you know which action changed the result.

Open Warota’s Steam page and library entry and verify that you are launching the same test build you intended to use. A “coming soon” listing is not evidence that a public release executable is available. If a beta has ended, an old shortcut or branch may point to files that are no longer supported.

- Check whether Steam shows a beta branch or a pending update.
- Allow Steam to finish downloads and disk activity before pressing Play again.
- If the page still reports that the game is unavailable, you cannot repair a missing release by reinstalling local files; wait for an authorized build or follow the developer’s announcement.
2. Update Windows and the graphics driver
Steam Support lists updating Windows as a first-line response when a game is stuck on “Preparing to Launch.” Install pending Windows updates, restart the PC, and then install a current driver for the GPU actually used by the game. Driver updates matter especially for a black screen or an immediate graphics-device failure.
- Open Settings → Windows Update, install available updates, and restart when requested.
- Identify the GPU in
dxdiagor Device Manager, then obtain the driver through the GPU manufacturer’s normal update channel. - Restart again after the driver installation. Do not test immediately while an installer or Windows Update process is still running.
- If the problem began directly after a driver update, record that fact. It is useful when reporting the issue and helps distinguish a new driver regression from a game-file problem.
3. Verify the Steam installation
Corrupt or incomplete files can stop a game before its window appears. Steam’s standard launch-failure guidance is to verify the integrity of the installed files.
- Open Steam and select Library.
- Right-click Warota and choose Properties.
- Open Installed Files.
- Select Verify integrity of game files and wait for Steam to complete the scan and any replacement download.
- Restart Steam, then launch Warota from the library.
Verification only checks the files Steam manages. It does not repair an unsupported operating system, replace a faulty GPU driver, or prove that a beta executable is stable.
4. Disable non-essential software and overlays
Steam recommends disabling non-essential software while diagnosing a game that will not start. Overlay, capture, monitoring, RGB, audio-routing, and aggressive security utilities can all alter how a game window or graphics device is initialized. This is a diagnostic step, not proof that any particular overlay breaks Warota.

- Close browsers, video players, recording tools, hardware monitors, and other applications you do not need for the test.
- Turn off optional Steam, chat, GPU, and capture overlays temporarily.
- Stop utilities that inject an on-screen display or change frame timing.
- Restart Steam and test with only Steam and Warota running.
If Warota launches after this change, re-enable programs one at a time. The first one that reproduces the failure is a useful lead, but report it as a conflict observed on your system rather than as a confirmed universal incompatibility.
5. Work through the black-screen checks
A black screen can mean that the process crashed, that the game opened on another display, or that rendering initialization failed. General official Steam-game troubleshooting guidance recommends checking display settings, shader cache, DirectX, graphics-driver configuration, and other running applications.
- Check the display path: Press
Alt+Tabto see whether the game is open behind another window. If you use multiple monitors, temporarily disconnect the secondary display or set the intended monitor as primary. - Try a windowed presentation: If the build provides launch options or an in-game setting, test windowed or borderless mode rather than exclusive full screen. Do not invent a launch command if the build does not document one.
- Check the active GPU: In Windows graphics settings, assign the game to the discrete GPU when the system has both integrated and discrete adapters.
- Review shader-cache state: A damaged or incomplete shader cache can interfere with first-render initialization. Clear or rebuild the relevant driver cache using the GPU driver’s supported procedure, then allow the first launch extra time to compile.
- Check DirectX: Confirm that the system reports DirectX 11 support and that Windows components are current. The requirement is DirectX 11; installing unrelated graphics packages is not a substitute for fixing the system’s reported DirectX environment.
- Close other applications: A full-screen application, video capture process, or memory-heavy program can make a launch appear frozen.
Do not interpret a black screen by itself as proof of a Warota-wide defect. Capture whether audio plays, whether the mouse cursor changes, whether the process remains in Task Manager, and whether the display recovers after Alt + Tab.

- Restore or allow a file only when you recognize the installation and the file came from the authorized Steam build.
- Prefer a narrowly scoped exclusion for the game’s installation folder or executable over disabling protection globally.
- Re-enable protection after the test if you temporarily disabled it.
- Record the detection name and file path for the developer instead of deleting the evidence.
A security exclusion cannot fix a missing DirectX component, a below-minimum GPU, or a broken beta save. It is relevant only when the security log shows a block or quarantine event.
7. Test administrator privileges only as a diagnostic
Administrator privileges appear in general launch troubleshooting checklists. They can reveal a permissions problem, but they should not be the permanent default for an ordinary game.
- Close Warota and Steam.
- Use the Windows account policy appropriate to your PC to test Steam or the game executable with administrator privileges.
- Launch once and record whether the behavior changes.
- If this is the only way the game starts, remove the elevated setting after testing and report the installation path, Windows account type, and observed result.
Do not bypass Windows security prompts or grant broad permissions merely because a black screen occurs. The test is useful only if it changes the symptom.
Choose the branch that matches your symptom
| Observed symptom | Checks to prioritize | Evidence to record |
|---|---|---|
| Crash to desktop immediately | Confirm build availability, compare requirements, update Windows and GPU driver, verify files, then disable overlays and non-essential software. | Whether an error dialog appears, crash time, build or beta branch, GPU and driver version. |
| Steam remains on “Preparing to Launch” | Update Windows, restart, verify files, close background utilities, and check whether security software blocked the executable. | Exact Steam status text and whether the process appears briefly in Task Manager. |
| Black screen with audio | Check monitor selection, Alt + Tab, windowed or borderless mode if available, active GPU, shader cache, DirectX, and driver state. |
Audio or cursor behavior, number of displays, resolution, and whether the window responds. |
| Black screen with no process activity | Verify files, update the driver, close overlays, and inspect security history. Recheck that the GPU meets the 4 GB requirement. | Whether Steam returns to the Play button and whether any file was quarantined. |
| Frozen window | Wait briefly after the first launch for shader work, then close other applications and test without overlays. Verify files if the freeze repeats. | How long the window remains frozen, CPU/disk activity, and whether input or audio continues. |
| Game starts over when selecting Continue | Treat this as the documented beta save-loading issue, not as a graphics crash. Check the build notes and report the affected save and build. | Beta version, save location if known, and whether New Game works. |
What the beta notes do—and do not—establish
The open-beta information provides two concrete categories of evidence. First, previous save data could fail to load through Continue, causing the game to start over. Second, beta 0.2.0 included fixes for keyboard-and-mouse controls and cursor clipping. These are documented beta behaviors and fixes, so they should be reported with the matching build number.

The notes do not establish a confirmed universal startup crash, a universal black screen, or a published crash-rate figure. No independent crash-rate, black-screen-rate, benchmark, or established review statistic is available for the unreleased Steam listing. Avoid judging the reliability of the final game from one beta symptom or from an anecdotal report without the same build and hardware details.
How to collect a useful report
If the sequence above does not resolve the problem, the most useful next step is a reproducible report rather than repeated reinstalls. Warota’s Steam information directs feedback and bug reports to Steam Discussions, official social media, and a feedback form. Use one of those official routes and include enough detail for the developers to separate a build defect from a local configuration issue.
Include these details
- The exact Warota build, demo, or beta branch and when it was downloaded.
- Your Windows edition and whether it is 64-bit.
- CPU model, installed RAM, GPU model, dedicated VRAM, and graphics-driver version.
- Whether the PC meets the published Core i5-9400, 8 GB RAM, GTX 1050 Ti 4 GB, and DirectX 11 minimums.
- The exact error message, copied verbatim when possible.
- The symptom category: crash to desktop, launch error, black screen, or frozen window.
- Whether Windows and the driver were updated, Steam file verification found or replaced files, overlays were disabled, and security software recorded a block.
- The result of each test, including whether audio, cursor movement, or Task Manager activity continued.
Do not send sensitive data
Remove account passwords, product keys, unrelated personal files, and private identifiers from screenshots or logs. A concise hardware-and-build description is more useful than a long recording with no version information.
When a hardware upgrade is the right conclusion
If your PC is below the published minimum—particularly below the GeForce GTX 1050 Ti with 4 GB VRAM or 8 GB of system memory—software troubleshooting cannot make it compliant. A graphics-card upgrade may be necessary, but the game is unreleased and its final requirements could change. Recheck the Steam listing at launch before buying hardware solely for Warota.
If your PC meets every listed minimum and the game still fails, do not assume that replacing parts will solve it. Complete the Windows, driver, verification, background-software, display, DirectX, security, and permissions checks first, then report the build-specific results. That information gives the developer a way to determine whether the problem is in the test build or in a particular system configuration.
Quick Recap
A compact troubleshooting checklist
- Confirm that the Steam listing or authorized test branch is available and note the build.
- Compare the PC with Windows 10/11 64-bit, Core i5-9400, 8 GB RAM, GTX 1050 Ti 4 GB, and DirectX 11.
- Install Windows updates and restart.
- Update the driver for the GPU Warota actually uses and restart.
- Verify Warota’s files through Steam → Library → Properties → Installed Files → Verify integrity of game files.
- Disable non-essential programs and overlays, then test from the Steam library.
- For a black screen, check monitor selection, window mode, active GPU, shader cache, DirectX, and other applications.
- Review security history for a false-positive block and use only narrowly scoped exclusions when justified.
- Test administrator privileges once as a diagnostic, not as a permanent workaround.
- Send the exact build, symptom, hardware, software versions, and test results through Warota’s official feedback channels if the failure remains.
