Wartorn entered Early Access on June 17, 2025—not an upcoming release. Steam lists the game’s full release date as November 11, 2025. Here’s what Stray Kite Studios announced, what the game involves, and what the store listing says about playing it now.
When did Wartorn come out?
Stray Kite Studios announced on May 1, 2025 that Wartorn would launch in Early Access on June 17, 2025. Steam lists November 11, 2025 as the full release date. The studio’s announcement named Steam and the Epic Games Store as planned storefronts; Steam’s listing confirms its availability there. Steam’s Wartorn page provides the current listing, while Stray Kite Studios’ Steam announcements include its November 4, 2025 notice of the 1.0 release.
The announced 2025 price was $29.99, with a $19.99 offer for launch week. Those were historical terms, not a promise of today’s price: Steam showed $34.99 when accessed on October 8, 2026, and prices can change. Check the store page for the price and availability in your region.
What kind of game is Wartorn?
Steam describes Wartorn as a single-player, squad-based roguelite. The story follows sisters Yara and Elani as they travel across the Isles of Talaur toward Beynun, recruiting and upgrading fantasy creatures along the way. An overworld map offers branching routes, and battles play out in real time.

Elemental tactics and terrain
Combat revolves around interactions among fire, water, tar, plants, and lightning. For example, water can extinguish fire, while electricity can spread through wet conditions. Stray Kite’s 2025 Early Access announcement also highlighted physics-based destructible environments and a slow-time feature for issuing commands during combat.
Progress between runs
The announcement described the Villa as a hub for upgrades and equipment changes, alongside roguelite progression involving heirlooms, trinkets, abilities, and upgraded heroes. These are features promoted for the Early Access release; consult the current Steam listing and the studio’s announcements for details about the current build.

Can you play Wartorn on Steam Deck?
