What does “input getting stuck” mean?
It describes the game behaving as though a control is still being held after the player lets go. Depending on the action, that can look like unwanted character movement, aim that keeps drifting, or firing, aiming down sights, sprinting, or reloading that continues after release. Players may describe it as “keys getting stuck,” “movement won’t stop,” or “the game acts like I’m still holding the button.”

The suggested explanations—including a sticky or faulty device, controller stick drift or deadzone behavior, duplicate or conflicting bindings, overlays, remappers, and controller or firmware connection problems—are possibilities to investigate, not confirmed diagnoses. Is Activision tracking this as a known issue?
On the official Warzone Known Issues page retrieved October 8, 2026, stuck input was not listed. Activision describes that page as a list of issues identified or reported and under investigation or scheduled for a fix; its absence means the tracker does not confirm that this particular symptom is being investigated or fixed. Activision says players who do not see their issue listed can report it using the Warzone Bug Report form on that page.
A separate Season 04 patch note dated June 16, 2026 describes a fix for map geometry that allowed players to reach unintended areas or become stuck. That use of “stuck” refers to a character becoming trapped in the environment, not a control continuing to register after release. The Season 04 patch notes do not establish a fix for stuck input.

How to narrow down the cause
There is no confirmed universal fix in the available reporting. Use small, reversible comparisons to gather evidence instead of changing many settings at once.
- Record exactly what happens. Note which action remains active—such as a movement direction, aim, trigger, sprint, or reload—along with the input device and when the behavior begins.
- Compare locations and modes. Check whether it happens in menus or a training or private environment as well as in live matches. A difference can help narrow the investigation, but it does not prove the cause.
- Cross-test an input device if one is already available. Try another controller or temporarily use keyboard and mouse. If the symptom follows one device, that is useful evidence to examine the peripheral; if it does not, continue checking bindings, software layers, and the game. Borrowing a device is a sensible test—buying one is not a confirmed remedy.
- Review the relevant binding and software. Check the affected action’s assignment for conflicts or duplicates. If you use an overlay or input-remapping software, test with one layer disabled at a time, then restore it if there is no change. Keep a note of each adjustment.
- Submit a report if the behavior persists. Use the Bug Report form linked from Activision’s Known Issues page if the symptom is still reproducible and absent from the list. Include your platform, input device, affected action, relevant settings or software, and the context in which you can reproduce it.
What not to infer from a test
If another device works normally, that points to a difference worth investigating; it does not prove the original device is broken or mean it must be replaced. Likewise, an issue appearing only in a live match, or disappearing after a setting change, is useful diagnostic evidence rather than proof of a single root cause. The reviewed reporting does not support recommending a specific controller, driver utility, system reinstall, or security-software change as a fix.
