A TechTimes report published December 29, 2021 described GameStop’s next PS5 restock as an in-store offering scheduled for December 30. The event is historical; that report does not indicate current inventory or availability.
What was reported about the December 30 restock?
TechTimes said selected GameStop locations would offer PS5 consoles in stores on December 30, 2021. Its report attributed the location list to a PS5 restock tracker linking to GamingIntel, so the list should be understood as contemporaneous secondary reporting—not a GameStop corporate announcement or independently verified store roster. TechTimes’ December 29, 2021 report
The collected reporting does not establish how many stores participated, how many consoles each had, or how many were sold. Nor does it provide an authoritative notice confirming the event’s terms.
What was in the bundle?
Reddit users discussing the event described a bundle built around the disc-edition PS5, with three games, an extra controller, a charging station, and a gift card. These are anecdotal comments, not proof that every store offered the same package. The available accounts do not establish a universal bundle configuration or exact event price. Some users questioned whether a console-only option was available. The collected evidence does not confirm whether GameStop offered one, or whether access depended on a particular membership or other requirement.
What GameStop’s launch announcement does—and does not—confirm
In a September 16, 2020 corporate release, GameStop said it was accepting preorders for both the PlayStation 5 and PS5 Digital Edition. It gave U.S. launch-era prices of $499.99 for PS5 and $399.99 for PS5 Digital Edition, and also noted games and accessories. Those figures describe the 2020 launch announcement; they are not the price of the December 2021 restock or bundle. GameStop’s September 16, 2020 release

GameStop chief merchandising officer Chris Homeister said at the time: “These consoles are going to be in high demand, so we’re encouraging our customers to make plans now to reserve their system while supplies last.” The statement was made in the context of the 2020 launch, not the December 2021 event.

No. December 30, 2021 has passed, and the reported store list and bundle do not establish present-day availability. Anyone looking for a console needs to check current retailer listings and local inventory rather than rely on a historical restock notice.
