The “13 days” claim refers to a historical Xbox Series X|S upgrade offer reported on December 2, 2025—not a general giveaway of Red Dead Redemption. The report said some existing owners saw a personalized “Just For You” offer, but it does not show that the offer is still available in October 2026. Check your own account and official regional store for current eligibility.
What was the 13-day Red Dead Redemption offer?
On December 2, 2025, Pure Xbox reported that an Xbox Series X|S upgrade had begun rolling out and that some owners saw a “Just For You” offer with an expiration 13 days away. That wording described the offer shown to those users at that time; it was not a countdown beginning today or proof that the full game was free to everyone. Read the December 2, 2025 report.
The report connected the offer to existing Xbox ownership and described confusion over whether the upgrade was free. It also noted problems upgrading the digital Xbox 360 version. Rockstar Support said in that report: “We are aware of an issue where Xbox players are unable to upgrade their digital Xbox 360 version of Red Dead Redemption to the Xbox Series X|S version and are working with Microsoft to resolve it. Thank you for your patience.” That statement documents an issue at the time; it does not confirm the status of an account or offer now.
Is Red Dead Redemption free to download now?
The historical report does not establish a free download currently available in October 2026. Availability can depend on platform, region, edition, account, and any offer shown to an individual player. Open your platform’s official store while signed into the account you use to play, and check the displayed price and entitlement details before downloading or buying.

Who could qualify for the Xbox upgrade?
The December 2025 report discussed owners of the digital Xbox 360 version and reported entitlement difficulties. It does not establish that every digital owner qualified, nor does it establish eligibility for physical-disc owners. If you own the game digitally, check your Xbox library and the game’s store page while signed in to the purchasing account. If the upgrade is not shown as included, do not assume a separate listing is free: verify the price and entitlement shown for your account or contact Xbox Support.
How to check the official listing for your platform
- Xbox: Sign in to the account that owns the game, then check your library and the Xbox Store listing for your region. Confirm whether it says you own the game, offers an upgrade, or displays a price.
- PC: Check the official PC storefront listing and its current price and included content. An Xbox Hong Kong PC listing describes Red Dead Redemption with Undead Nightmare and gives a December 2, 2025 release date; it is evidence of a PC edition, not of a current free offer. View the Xbox Hong Kong PC listing.
- Other platforms: Search the relevant official regional store for the edition supported by your device. Do not treat an offer or listing in another region as proof of your own eligibility.
What Xbox listings do—and do not—establish
An Xbox Singapore store listing describes a digital bundle for backward-compatible Xbox play and Xbox Series X|S, including Undead Nightmare and other content. That listing is specific to Singapore and describes a product, not a universal free promotion. Check your own regional store for the edition, content, and price shown to you. - Get exclusive access to a bank robbery mission
- A collection of exclusive story mode boosts, bonuses and discounts
- Get three weapons Free at gunsmiths
Store pages can help confirm what a particular edition includes, but they do not establish an account-specific promotional entitlement. The “Just For You” offer reported in 2025 was personalized, so the decisive check is the offer and ownership information displayed in your own account.
